TOR/PHI/JAZZ; Raptors play Jazz and eat cheese steaks
Toronto sends: TJ Ford, Rasho, Garbo, Graham, Baston, Bargnani
Toronto receives: Kirilenko, Dalembert, Green, Hart
------
Philly sends Dalembert, Green [/other bad contract?]
Philly receives TJ Ford, Andrea Bargnani
------
Utah sends Andrei Kirilenko, Hart
Utah recieves: Rasho, Garbo, Graham, Baston [All expiring] and Tor 2008 1st Round Pick.
------
Raptor fans are panicing and to avoid a massive suicide spike in the city, the Raptors plug some holes.
Philly gets younger and shed's some salary. Would only work if they decided to indeed trade Andre Miller [despite him being the driving force]. (To Charlotte for Okafor or something?]
Utah clears some room to extend/sign their young guns [Deron, Brewer, Millsap, Miles] and get a mid-rounder.
[A slight variation to the original trade; Graham and Garbo go to Philly and Bargnani goes to the Jazz?]
Good/Bad/Ugly?

Utah definitely declines. Philly probably declines as well. Dalembert has been playing very well and they seem pretty happy with Miller.

If the Jazz get smoked out of the playoffs, and if the team decides to dump AK for salary relief as quick as possible, there is some merit to trading him to the Raps for expirings + value. We'll have to see what happens.
I don't like the window dressing here, though...Price has actually proven to be worth something as our backup PG, and if we're going to trade AK for mostly junk then I'd rather not have to add assets, even minor ones. The Raps can have Hart if they want PG depth. (They'd also need a C if they're trading 2 for one...feel free to cart Jarron Collins away.)
Anyway, to this Utah fan, it's distasteful but not impossible. Needs a tweak here and there, and a lot of things have to fall through first, though.

I remember Utah fans talking smack about one of their back up point/shooting guards. I thought it was Price, but now that you mention it, I recall it was indeed Hart. Hart was the throw in I was thinking about in this thread [dunno why Price came to mind].
If the Jazz would rather have less salary relief and some extra value, I'd have no problem throwing Delfino over in a S&T.

T-Spot, I gotta love your vision. That Raptors frontcourt is awesome!
But unfortunately, you shortchange the Jazz a bit. Maybe PHI too, although I tend to think Sixers fans overrate Sammy about as much as TOR fans do TJ.

Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

I agree that this is a big IF on Utah's side. Utah is in a unique situation imo, the Jazz will probably never get fair value for AK47 (they aren't getting enough value, salary-wise, out of him now), and let's not forget how big his contract is making him harder to move. The Raps could package their expirings with some young assets to sweeten the deal. Although Utah can certainly use the expirings to re-sign their own young guns, but Utah has little use for young players as they are already a young team. The best that the Jazz could do imo is to get some expiring vets that can be useful for them. Now whether Rasho and Garbo etc. fits the bill is debatable.

Its easy to dismiss a player like saying oh TJ is just injury-prone and Andrea Bargnani is a bust. Fans overrate their own players. At this point, Philly is doing well, they may rather choose to stay with the status quo than risk taking on young players like Ford & Bargs & a draft pick.

Dalembert is horrible. I've never seen a player goaltend as many shots as he has. Watching him try to post up is one of the most horrific sights in the league. He thinks he has a mid-range jumper, the keyword there being "thinks." He has 2 left feet and 2 left hands. I agree that he's a very good shot blocker and rebounder, but he can barely stay on the floor enough to make it matter since he's always in foul trouble. I know that you may be saying that it sounds a lot like Ben Wallace, but you see what happens when that type of player has a max contract as opposed to a rational one. The sixers are going to end up signing Iggy to a deal at about $9 mil per, so that puts over $20 mil in salary to your 2 best players, neither of which can create their own shots.

Miller is 30+ years old and his contract is expiring soon. Philly could still be looking to shop him around if they want to get more youth in, IMO. His storng play has made his value much higher than around the trade deadline when his name was being thrown around.
