LAC/PHI/HOU

Post#1 » by SportsFan215 » Mon Feb 9, 2009 11:20 pm

Clips get: Battier/Head/'09 First from PHI (Top 10 Protected)
Clips give: B. Davis

The Clips get a very good locker room presence, and Battier is a SF, so Thornton can move to a 6th man role, where he can score off the bench. They also get a mid-first this year to sweeten the deal.

Sixers get: B. Davis
Sixers give: Miller/'09 First (Top 10 Protected)

Been talked about a lot, and agreed on by most.

Rockets get: Miller
Rockets give: Battier/Head

I saw that the Rockets would like to have Miller, and would trade Battier for him. Head is just a filler, and I have the feeling the Rockets would like to get rid of him. Also this helps the Rockets stay under the luxury tax next season.

Sorry, Philly is not giving up Miller AND a draft pick for oft-injured Bdiddy's HUGE contract.

no thanks, clips might be able to give us a pick to take that salary off their hands, but i doubt it.

I can't speak for everyone but i think Miller is a horrible fit for the Rockets. The starting point guard for the Houston Rockets has to be able to hit open 3s at a consistent basis.

No interest in Davis' contract with his back and his hamstring and everything else.

Yea it's hard to ask Philly for a first when they giving an expiring for Davis who has no trade value right now. Dealing straight up with Houston might be something to look into for the Clips. Baron for Battier and whatever crappy fillers to make it work.

I think I have asked Rockets fans about Baron before and from what I remember it didn't go very well.

As a Sixers' fan... yes. Miller is headed West this summer and so this gives us a PG for next year and someone who might blend with Brand on pick and rolls.

Seriously... can you guys get Davis to the airport on your end and we'll get Miller and that pick to the airport on our end 'cause I have no faith in this happening.

We'd gladly take Baron and Camby for McGrady and Head/Alston.

You and I want this trade to happen more than anyone else. It seems as if a lot of other Sixers fans don't like this trade as much. Also, a 3rd team would need to be found found for Miller, since things didn't go well between him and the Clips when he used to be there. (ORL?, POR?, etc.)

To what team? Miller is a California guy, but the Warriors, Clippers and Lakers all have their point guards. Maybe the Lakers could be a fit, but the triangle doesn't need a point guard to run it.

Miller would be REALLY good on the Blazers, where he could make life a lot easier on Roy, Aldridge and Oden by getting them a lot of easy shots, but the Blazer fans seem to have their heart set on a younger star and maybe their management too.

There aren't that many teams that are a point guard away from doing real damage.

Oh yeah...after watching Miller conduct this offense like a maestro...I have no interest in a shoot first type of lead guard. Especially not one with a heavy contract and lots of physical baggage.
