Raptors/Memphis: Getting James Harden to TO

Now this deal only happens if Harden is there when Memphis picks.
Raptors Trade:
Marcus Banks $4,553,793
Roko Ukic $1,350,000
Rights to Earl Clarke (#9)
= 5, 903, 793 X 1.25 + 100,000
= 7, 479, 741
Memphis Trades:
Marko Jaric $7,100,000
Rights to James Harden (#6)
Memphis saves some money on Jarics deal and gets a backup PG in Roko, they only move down 3 spots and shed a horrible contract. Harden wouldnt be needed in memphis with Mayo but Derozan or Clarke could if Gay doesnt sign an extension.
Raptors get their 2 guard and would use cash to buy a pick and address the backup PG spot.

I doubt Harden slips past OKC or Washington, and besides, Memphis really isn't saving all that much here. A team like Detroit could probably just absorb Jaric's salary for a pick swap which would probably be more attractive than saving only about $1.2 mill.
Marion for Hedo has been shot down plenty of times, by the way.

a team like detroit for a pick swap? #15 for #6 ? How does that make memphis better at all and they save 1 million dollars. What do you meann Harden wont slip past washington? So your saying Rubio goes #3? Wont slip past the thunder yet since the chandler deal they need a defensive C like Thabeet and could sign Ben Gordon to fill their SG need wiith the space they have, i just think your reasoning is way off. They save 1.2 million but also get a draft pick twice as good as #15? I just dont see your reasoning at all.
Most OKC fans if you look on their board would take Thabeet over Harden so there is potential for a deal like this

I don't think Memphis would consider this deal... This doesn't really help the team by taking a less talented player for a couple of million.
The only deal that I could see happening between TOR and MEM on draft night would be (if Bosh will not resign with TOR):
Bosh, 9
for
Gay, Arthur, 6

Bosh won't sign with Memphis but if by some strange chance he decided he would, dropping the 9 would be essential.

What dont you understand, they also get the #9 which from what your saying is no different than #30? Farmar is nice but Derozan has more potential than anyone in your package. I picked clarke to fill the PF spot but it could be Derozan and they could sign Millsap or someone like that to fill the PF spot.
Also what about reworking the deal. Assuming we buy a pick #21 from Hornets (Jrue Holiday) could we add that in to make it better?
Raptors Trade:Marcus Banks $4,553,793
Roko Ukic $1,350,000
Rights to Jrue Holiday (#21)
Rights to Earl Clarke or Demar Derozan (#9)
= 5, 903, 793 X 1.25 + 100,000
= 7, 479, 741
Memphis Trades:Marko Jaric $7,100,000
Rights to James Harden (#6)
Also i picked clarke as a PF just to fill your need Derozan would be there at #9 too and could be the replacement for Gay if you cant come to a contract extension.
Conley/Holiday/Roko
Mayo/Buckner/Banks
Gay/Derozan
Millsap/Arthur
Gasol/Haddadi

This really comes down to how much you value players in this draft... I personally do not like anyone in the top 10 besides: Griffin, Jennings, and maybe Tyreke. So unless I knew that Jennings would fall to #9 I wouldn't touch this deal. I would most likely just select him at #6.

U brought in this reason for Mem to do this trade is to save money by dumping a bad contract this saves them way more then the 1.2 mil your offering. I am also sure teams are willing to send some instant cap for the draft pick also along with a draft pick.
Btw Yue could bring in money into the Grizz seeing how he is the starting pointgaurd for team china and if u didnt know China is a huge market thought u might know.

grizzleGM hits the nail on the head. In a weak draft where there might not be a number of solid prospects after the #1 pick, a team like Memphis needs to find a keeper more than saving a few dollars. If it were about money savings I could see the logic, but as it is they are going to be alomost $20mil under the cap, and Jaric isn't really a horrible contract in the big scope of things.
So it boils down to the question of which does Memphis value more? A small savings or a chance to get at least someone in the draft that they might actually think can come in and contribute, even if it's off the bench. But you can never count out the possibility that a team really likes a certain player that they feel will be around at a lower draft position. But this deal isn't enough incentive to jump at.
The only time the Grizzlies and Raptors should be mentioned together is the competition for signing Carlos Delfino and Pops Mensa-Bosu for bench depth. And since the Raptors like Euroleague players might as well add competing for the services of Ioannis Bourousis as well.

I have to agree, especially when you consider how Memphis took on the extra year of a Jaric/Cardinal swap as part of the deal to move up for OJ Mayo.
In the case of the original trade, Memphis only saves $1.2 million. Even if there is a guy the Grizz think can fall to #9, the savings aren't worth the risk IMO.
