Portland acquires the Draft rights to LaMarcus Aldridge and a future second-round pick from Chicago for Viktor Khryapa and the Draft rights to Tyrus Thomas.
Boston acquires Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff and a second-round pick in 2008 from Portland for Dan Dickau, Raef LaFrentz and the Draft rights to Randy Foye.
Minnesota acquires the Draft rights to Randy Foye from Portland (via Boston) for the Draft rights to Brandon Roy.

The LMA pick was there's and the Roy pick was Bostons.

Portland traded above Houston took Foye and traded him for Roy.
That story always makes me happy when I think about it.......
Houston would have been ridiculous with Roy........

Ewwwww Their pick not there's yuck

This is wrong on both accounts.
LMA wasn't our pick. The Blazers had the worst record in the NBA but like most ever team with the best chance to get the #1 pick, we fell to #4. On draft night, the packaged Khryapa with the #4 (Thomas) and sent it to Chicago for the #2, which ended up being Aldridge.
And as the Boston pick goes, Randy Foye was taken with the Boston pick. Roy was originally picked by the Timberwolves. The Blazers and TWolves then swapped picks and Portland through some cash McFails way to get the deal done.

Unless they traded Roy for Battier......... wouldn't Memphis be deadly then.

If they really didn't want anyone, they would have traded the pick prior to the draft IMO.
But to answer your question.......Memphis would be better but since they got Roy, they wouldn't have gotten Conely and Mayo also........
I wonder if they would have traded Pau if they landed Roy instead of Gay though......

Bah, I always forget that we moved up.

I had a similar thought like that before with the Blazers picking Chris Paul instead of trading down for Webster and a PDX fan thought they'd still have ended up with Roy/Aldridge the next year as well. What's your thoughts on that one?
-----------------
That's a good question on the Gasol thing I think that still happens though because Pau IMO is a sidekick more than the man and Roy might have been the man to lead but would they have done enough for that deal not to go down?
WetCoast wrote:Getting OT but IMO, I think ppl tend to overrate a Paul and Roy back court. I know it's just the Allstar game but in 2 of them played together the chemistry doens't look that great between those two. I think the real winner of a back court would be Deron Williams and Brandon Roy. Now that would be a ridiculous 1,2 guard punch.
