My new Detroit off-season plan (edited)

A new version using the draft to address Detroit needs. I know it's not realistic to think a team would make all those moves in the draft day but i had fun thinking about them
Trade #1 3 millions for #21
Trade #2 pack #21 + #39 + #44 + 3 millions to Charlotte for #12
Trade #3 pack #12 + #35 + the future second they owe to Detroit + 3 millions to Toronto for #9
Trade #4 Buy Utah's #20 pick for 3 millions
#9 - Demar DeRozan - 1,902,200
#15 - Earl Clark - 1,398,200
#20 - Jeff Teague - 1,099,100
Trade #5 Trade Amir Johnson to OKC for a lotto protected 1st + a TPE
Sign CV/Lee/Millsap + Birdman with the rest of the capspace ~13-14 millions
Kwame / Birdman / Plaisted
FA (probably CV) / Max / Clark
Tay / Clark / Sharpe / DeRozan
RiP / Afflalo / DeRozan
Stuckey / Bynum / Teague
Done i edited it to make it work. Thanks loserX

That's a whole lot of pick swaps that probably won't happen.

So Kwame Brown, Amir Johnson, some second rounders, and 12 million dollars for the #9, 10, and 20 picks in the draft, Tyson Chandler, and Elson and Allen, right? No.
1 isn't happening. A week ago, you were adding in the 15th pick with Amir, for a protected pick next year. Now the 15 is gone, and instead OKC trades away a late first this year. Maybe they do. Probably won't get a better pick at 25 than Amir. But, maybe they just take that risk. Could go either way. Without 1, 3 isn't happening. Without 3, 4 isn't happening. Utah probably says no, and Milwaukee says no.

And if we were going to make a big push to trade into the lotto, I'd want it to be in a stronger draft than this. All 4 guys you have us drafting could easily bust.

And I suppose a bigger issue is you aren't going to be able to get #1 or #2 done on draft day anyways, because of the cap.

Not to mention you cant trade consecutive draft pics. If your getting the Hornets in 09 you cant get 2010 as well.
interesting it looks like a Pritchard type draft night. Unrealsitic but interesting.

I would be flabberghasted if Nawlins was that desperate to deal Chandler.
And #12 is worth more than #21 & #25.
And #9 is worth more than #12 & #35.
For instance, #15 & #21 might get you #12.

Absolutely zero interest in all of these picks in this draft.

The timing is all off. The New Orleans trade and OKC trades can't happen until July 1, and there's no way Toronto is going to make a pick for you at #9 predicated on your ability to make Charlotte pick for them at #12 which is predicated on your ability to make OKC pick for Charlotte at #25 while everyone's waiting for the dust to settle.

Wrong Kwame + Amir + some 2nd rounders + 12 millions in cash + RAW CAP SPACE for the #9 + #10 + #20 but like loserX pointed, Amir to OKC can't happen until july 1st so the whole idea is destroyed

NOH trade doesn't matter, could be #21 for 3 mil and in july 1st Kwame for Chandler and 2011 1st instead of 2010 =/.
Oh and Cucad, a week ago i was trading Amir + #15 for a #10-15 pick in a much stronger draft. e.g. i was assigning Amir some value, the same i am assigning to this trade a mid/late 20's pick, i don't think it's absurd considering OKC reported interest in Amir during this season

Wrong

i wrote that NOH were suppose to draft the player for Charlotte so they could trade their 2010 pick. But i edited it, the previous version was wrong. This one should work, if the value is ok.

I wonder if Prince, #9, #15, and #20 could get us #1 and Kaman from the Clippers?
Stuckey
Rip
*FA SF*
Griffin(#1)
Kaman

Nah...that stuff happens all the time!
I'm not against trading back and cash is always nice, but we already have the 40th & the 54th (I think) in this draft. 4 2nds is way too many. For the 12th I'd want something like 18th and another late 1st.

I think #24 should be available, Do you think Charlotte would prefer #24 instead of #39 and #44? Or would #24 + 3 millions + Det 2010 2nd be a terrible offer for #12?

I've actually heard about Amir to the notSonics. But it was Dumars giving Presti the Piston's #15 pick to take on Amir's salary. The reason would be so that Dumars could have enough cap space to get two bigtime free agents. Still wouldn't do it. Presti's already got five bigs and 15 roster spots filled if he keeps Ibaka.

21st and 24th wouldn't be bad.
Larry Brown would probably consider a vet 2 or 4 that still has a few years left for that 12th too, but since we can't take salary back something would have to be worked out in trade (not a starter/DJ).

Any GM who spends $9 million and four 2nd rounders for the 9th pick in a bad draft is going to get fired.
