How did the Piston's name get thrown in there with Brown/Max being the offer?
I personally think bynum is going to turn out to be overpaid. I hope i'm wrong cause the league could use some talent at C, but as it stands I see there being an irreconcilable gap between the Laker's opinion of his value and the market.

Bynum will not be moved. To much potential and the Lakers need a center. The only offer I have seen that would remotely make sense was an Okafor/Felton deal. That would mean a three yr window to create a dynasty, Felton/Kobe/Artest/Gasol/Okafor would be pretty tough with Fish and Odom off the bench. But I think the Lakers want to have a piece to build around as this team ages. With several yrs of championship experience under his belt.

Sure, I mean, Will is a cheap backup PG and fills a role for the Pistons, but if need be they could...
Oh, you're talking about THAT Bynum! No, Andrew is not available. As a Mavs and Nets fan, I wouldn't pay what he's worth to the Lakers anyway, but he'll more than earn his salary.

We put too much of our time and energy into him for him to **** it up somewhere else. So he's going to make or break it with us.

teams don't trade 21 yr old legit centers who just posted the the 7th best PER among centers in the league behind big names like yao/d12/shaq/duncan/pau/aljeff. lakers probably have a better memory than one playoff run where bynum was getting back into shape and struggling to find a role with his diminished abilities due to a recent injury.

for Bynum, Farmar and choice Vujacic (better player to '11) or Morrison (expiring '10)
Don't even need a pick, just the 10m in space to make the deal work,

I agree.
An example is the trade suggestion by djthesonicsfan and daddyfivestar. Despite whatever potential that Bynum has.....OKC isn't going to give up Westbrook ( their current/future PG ) and Thabo ( another key core player for OKC ) to get Bynum. I can see why the Lakers are asking for Westbrook and Thabo for Bynum ( trade solid prospects for solid prospect that both have high ceilings ) ...whereas I can see reasons why OKC wouldn't give up Westbrook and Thabo for Bynum.
Not to blame them...but Laker fans are going to be asking for the Sun and Stars for a Player like Bynum. Whereas Non-Laker fans that would be interested in him wouldn't be able to realistically come close to what Laker fans are expecting.
Regardless, as dcash4 suggested, I see no reason why the Lakers would even consider this despite whatever issues Bynum and PJ had in this last playoffs.

Well before the Artest signing, the Pistons could have offered something interesting with Prince and all the capspace as the main pieces. Something like Prince, Kwame (that's probably hard for you guys), filler for Bynum + bad contract of your choice. We could have included are Bynum, who proved to be a very good PG off the bench.
But now it wouldn't make too much sense, which is a bummer for us cause I would rather Bynum over Gordon and CV.

please lock this, bynum is worth the most to the lakers, he is a soft 7 footer with a big contract and injury problems. no team is going to give up anything significant for him.

Bynum is unmovable.
He has a history of injury. He has yet to demonstrate consistent play. He is severely overpaid. Noone will be willing to offer worthwhile players/contracts in return for a high risk player. Lakers won't trade him for trash either.
