Big Trade I dreampt up: Booz/Beaz/Deng and More

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Wed Jul 22, 2009 4:30 am

I usually don't like the big trades, but what the heck this one just came to me and I like it for every team.

Miami -- New starting 5

In: Hinrich, Miller, Deng, Boozer
Out: Beasley, O'Neal, Jones, Cook, Blount

Chicago -- Beasley + Cook + Big Cap $

In: Beasley, O'Neal, Cook, Blount
Out: Deng, Hinrich, Miller, Thomas, Johnson

Utah -- Thomas + instant savings

In: Thomas, L. Johnson (unguaranteed), Bowen or Pavlovich (partially unguaranteed)
Out: Boozer

Option 1: Phoenix -- small upgrade

In: J. Jones
Out: Pavlovich

Option 2: Milwaukee -- small upgrade

In: J. Jones
Out: Bowen

Option 3: Utah -- choose wins over dollars

Utah keeps J. Jones.

I sure have to wonder about it from the Bulls end...and Utah sheds money...which they like..but they are not getting a lot for Boozer. Perhaps it's all they CAN get and still shed salary.

The Bulls...kind of tank this season to try being a bigger FA player while Miami does the reverse. A big deal for them is how good Miami thinks Beasley is gonna be.

That's not bad, IMO.

The bulls get to start over with Beasley and Rose. The HEAT get a competitive lineup which should make Wade happy. I think Pavs has already been bought out, and I don't think Mil will take the added salary. I doubt Utah does it if they are taking Jones back, so you're probably going to have to find another team to take him.

Wonderful job, Dr.!

Wade and Haslem, good friends, stay united, while the incoming package should help him contend for a title immediately. Their center position would have to be overhauled afterwards, maybe Chicago can arrange a buy-out with Jermaine O'Neal, so that he can be headed back to the more advanced contender, that is Miami. I think, that JO would prefer to play for Miami to Chicago.

The Bulls, on the other hand, acquire double maximum capspace for 2010, while having already a young stud core in place. Derrick Rose, Daequan Cook, James Johnson, Michael Beasley, Joakim Noah with John Salmons, Mark Blount and the dead salaries of Tim Thomas, Jerome James and Jermaine O'Neal coming off the books.

Imagining what it would mean for Chicago to acquire two additional superstars, to that particular core.

Miami says no, and emphatically. We are not giving up ALL our cap space AND Beasley with Boozer being the best return. Not happening.

I'm not so sure that Miami is into the trading of Beasley + scrapping of the 2010 plan. They're getting decent value imo, but they're killing a lot of their 2010 space and a chance at teaming up Wade with Chris Bosh.

Thanks for the feed back everyone.

For Miami: With Boozer + Miller coming off the books, can't the Heat still sign Bosh? If not, Boozer then gives them a fall back option, or at worst they would have the pieces to work a sign and trade for Bosh, i.e. Boozer for Bosh.

And wouldn't that team contend for a championship Miami next year? Wade would be happy.
