Sixers / Bulls / Mavs (Hinrich+Sammy to Dallas)

Sixers Trade: Samuel Dalembert, Marreese Speights, 1st Round Pick
Sixers Receive: Jason Terry, Joakim Noah, Matt Carroll

Mavs Trade: Jason Terry, J.J. Barea, Matt Carroll, Greg Buckner, 2nd Round Pick
Mavs Receive: Samuel Dalembert, Kirk Hinrich

Bulls Trade: Kirk Hinrich, Joakim Noah
Bulls Receive: Marreese Speights, J.J. Barea, Greg Buckner, 1st Rd Pick, 2nd Round Pick

Why for Phi: If they want to win now and with their Princeton offense, they need to add a PG who is experienced and can shoot threes. Noah is put in because losing Sammy and Marreese leaves them in dire need of a center.

Why for Dallas: They get an athletic, defensive center to split time with Damp and a combo-guard who could be an awesome sixth-man now and an awesome starting PG when Kidd retires.

Why for Chi: They are the only team that I'm not sure would do it even though I think it is a good trade for them. Overall, they get a big man who will be better than Noah in the near future, a solid backup PG who is getting paid 8 million less than Hinrich, and a painless $1 million buyout in Buckner. They also get 2 picks and lots of extra cap space (to make room for Boozer?) without their team getting much worse.

I'm not convinced Speights will be better than Noah first of all. As such, why don't we go ahead and remove them from the deal. That should make it look better for Philly since he's going to be better.

a replacement PG, expirings and a first doesn't seem to be the return Chicago wants for Kirk. Simply put: they don't want a return for him. They want him.

Terry & Carroll each have longer contracts than Dalembert. If Chicago is taken out of the trade, it leaves the Sixers very thin at center. I just don't think it makes them a better team.

Bulls won't trade Noah unless it nets them an all star in a combo deal. Noah's defense + rebounding is something Chicago needs badly.

I'd rather have the Terry/Barea combo than Hinrich. Some mav fans would do this trade, but I'm not one of them.

i would only beace it gets rid of matt carroll, we do get younger, and barea is a free agent nxt summer anyway so we wouldnt resign him, maybe we could flip hinrich for s jax or some other sg

I'm not going to argue over details because I understand some mav fans would do this for the same reason you mentioned (carroll), but Barea is not a free agent. He has a very discounted $1,815,000 team option which is all but guaranteed to be picked up.

I might consider it. But I'd much rather just keep the Jet instead of getting Hinrich for him.

Either way, it'd be fine for the Mavericks. Hinrich can fit a need. Neither Kidd, Jet nor JJB can stay with lightning quick PG. At 29, Hinrich can be a replacement while Kidd's slowing down. This also allows Beaubois to play some off guard. He'd crack the rotation sooner than later. Of course, we love Jet as fans. He's brought a lot of good memory to teammates and fans.

But why would the Bulls trade Noah at all? Aaron Gray is not ready. the Turkish guy is yet to play the NBA. This leaves the Bulls without a center. Brad Miller's lost a lot of steps already. He can't run with Derrick Rose. How can they afford to lose Noah? I know he'd never be a start. He's skillsets are pretty limited. But the team need his hustles and rebounds. I don't think they're hungry for money like that.
