Who wants Rip Hamilton?

Make an offer.

If needed for salary reasons, only SF/PF Summers can be included in a package deal.

After Dec. 15th, the Celtics could do a M. Daniels(exp), Tony Allen(exp), Giddens(exp), Scal(exp, cut), & 3mil for Rip.

Detroit gets a couple guys who could log minutes this season in Allen and Daniels, and cap relief at the end of the year. The main incentive for Detroit would be getting rid of that contract, though I'm not too familiar with their cap situation.
For the Celtics it's easy, you turn an already good bench, into an all-time great one, though that depends on on how Rip feels about a bench role.

^ That's a disgusting offer.

There won't be a fire sale for Rip. I'm certain of that. We'd move him if we got good value, but certainly not for some expiring bench fodder.

I really don't see Rip being part of Detroits long term plan. Sending him out for expirings this year could allow them to try to be a player in this years FA pool to continue to build whatever it is they are doing with Gordon/CharlieV/Stucky.

Depending on how the Wolves do, i could see a Blount/Daniels package for Hamilton.

What is it you were expecting for offers if I may ask?

I don't see why Detriot would do that, they already have Prince at SF so I don't see why they would be interested in Howard.

Would do a Rip for Howard swap- cant afford to lose Wallace though.

Start Gordon and bring JHO off the bench at the swing positions

Not interested in taking back Nazr w/out incentive

Ideally, I as a Pistons fan see no reason as to why a first round pick shouldn't be part of any package for Rip. I would do expirings and a late lottery to mid first for Rip and that's about the least I would take.

Rip's a good player on a slightly inflated contract, he's going to age better than most shooting guards given his lack of athleticism and skillset. Expirings and a good first for Rip, or a package of talented players works for me. There isn't a Rip fire sale, he's got several good years left.

No deal.

Try reading.

We have like 5 small forwards and 6 guards...

Bundinger is going to fill the Rip role for the Rox this year, for a fraction of the cost. No offer from us.

$45 million guaranteed over the next 4 seasons is likely why you won't be able to get expirings and a 1st round pick. It's probably going to be a sliding scale. Expirings and not much else of value, or 2-3 year contracts and a decent to good young player and/or a 1st rounder, or 4-5 year contract and a good young player and a good pick.

4 seasons of a contract due is an awful lot in this current market that has seen teams throw away a lot of value just to save some money.

Hamilton's last year is only partially guaranteed.

And if the best we can do is simply expirings, then we won't move him. Simple as that.

Yes.

Enjoy the dent he puts in your payroll and minutes for young players.

He's a good player, but his deal is too expensive for you to be asking for a team to add tens of millions of dollars to their payroll and give you a 1st round pick for that priviege.

You're not going to move Rip if you think you're gonna get 1sts and talent when he has a bad contract.

I love how people on realgm only think about Rip's contract. Completely ignoring the fact that he's a good player who could possibly put a team into playoff or championship contention.

No matter that he's a good player and a 3-time all-star, his contract has 45 million on it.

No. Absolutely. He's a very good player right now.

However, will he be a very good player in 3 to 4 years? Because you sure as heck are going to be paying him as if he were a very good player in 3 to 4 years. That's a very legitimate question in this market.
