Brand, Lou Williams, Sam Dalembert, 2nd Rd Pick for Josh Howard, Erick Dampier, Matt Carroll, Barea
Sixers: Iverson, Igoudala, Howard, Young, Speights (Barea, Green, Kapono, Smith, Dampier)
Mavericks: Kidd, Williams, Marion, Nowitzki, Brand (RB, Terry, Thomas, Gooden, Dalembert)
What do you think bout this trade, the Sixers have one of the most talented young core and the Mavs add much more frontcourt presence...

Sixers do this trade get rid of long term salary
Mavs wont do this they are taking on two long term contracts. It might help them in present this depends on how much luxury tax cuban is willing to pay.
They are already paying luxury tax if they do this trade it probably doubles

IMHO...I think that Dallas is exactly the type of team that would take on Brand's salary.
They are a team without a true low post scorer and offensive banger. They are close enough to smell a title, but not good enough to be considered a favorite. They have an aging nucleus and a limited window (Kidd and Dirk aren't young any more. Neither are Marion, Terry, etc...) They have an owner who would be considered a candidate to spend for the "right" player.
All of this predicated on Brand continuing to play well, but Dallas would be an option. I think Cleveland would be another and MAYBE San Antonio.
The question would be if you thought Brand was the difference this year to win it all, could you swallow the back end of the contract?

Dallas wants absolutely nothing to do with Brand. He just doesn't fill a need here. He can't play the 5 next to Dirk and he's more of a jump shooter than a low post scorer. Even if he were a decent fit I don't think Cuban would be willing to take on that contract.

^I actually think Brand would be a pretty good complement to Dirk. His ability to hit a jump shot opens up the lanes a bit for guys to drive, he hits the o-boards hard and he's a tough interior defender and shot blocker. He brings a lot of the same things that make Dampier successful next to Dirk, while being a hell of a lot more skilled.
That being said, he's a very large financial commitment, and I don't think this specific trade is very good for the Mavs.
Maybe something like Carroll-Gooden-Humprhies-Williams for Brand-Smith-Carney could make some sense.
