Dru Smith is the better scorer/passer & Garrett is the better on ball defender. Bouyea has a bit of both with a burst of speed (He has a 6 pack Btw).
I see Orlando Robinson getting cut but I don't see Garrett losing his 2-way contract yet. At then end of the day, I think Dru Smith wins out because of his size, timely passing & playing more under control.

It's preseason but I'm cautiously optimistic about Jovic. If he and Martin can man the power forward spot, I'm very happy.gom wrote:ShulaDon92 wrote:gom wrote:
That's what most intrigues me too. I spent all summer thinking Miami would set up Bam next to Yurt, but now I am looking forward to Jović & Bam together even more. We have many enticing lineups. And I know it's against the common wisdom, but I'm pretty happy to have kept Duncan for now too. Smart choice.
I am also very intrigued to see Bam/Jovic. It might be more Spo's flavor of speed and shooting.
We must see what Yursavven can bring.
My impression in the preseason is that Yurtseven looks stronger. He sees himself as a floor-stretching 5 and Bam as a 4 when they play together. I find it remarkable that all summer long we've heard how our front court is so anemic, and now we have so many options. The team has reacted to PJ Tucker's loss in typical fashion, finding the solution in house, organically, rather than making a bad trade for Crowder. This is really for the best, because our best way out of Duncan's contract is to keep him, play him, and restore his value. Brady Hawk was right: Robinson has improved his game, not just by hitting 3s more consistently but finding other ways to score and playing credible defense.
I suspected we were a contender with or without help, but suddenly it looks like we have taken another step forward. Again.
Here's Spo on Jović (including mentioning the combo with Bam):
And from Jović:
and Brady Hawk:
I'm also intrigued by Jamal Cain and Dru Smith. They seem to be the next guys. I've seen enough of the other guys. Starting to really like what we have.
The rotation/depth chart is going to be full of difficult decisions.
Pg: Lowry / Vincent / Smith
Sg: Herro / Oladipo / Robinson
Sf: Butler / Strus / Cain
Pf: Martin / Jovic / Highsmith / Haslem
Cc: Adebayo / Dedmon / Yurtseven
That team could be a legitimate 14 players deep.

It's like you say all the time, BBallFreak, our scouts and coaching staff are elite. When PJ Tucker left, they went to work. Here is another Brady Hawk breakdown to whet your appetite.
This is stunning progress since summer league. I was all for sending Jović to Sioux Falls, but he can already contribute and makes Duncan & Strus better too.
I am also confident Spo is also going to play Bam at the 4 and Yurt at the 5 against bigger teams like the Timberwolves. We haven't seen enough of this during the preseason, because Bam & Jimmy & company haven't played that much. That's probably because Spo is already sure of them. I really do hope we get more Bam/Yurt in the last game, but at this point, who can doubt these guys? Right?
I want the ring now.

I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

yeah i dont think he really counts in the roster anymore.aside from that great game by the heat.the slow starts are a concern thoughBBallFreak wrote:It's preseason but I'm cautiously optimistic about Jovic. If he and Martin can man the power forward spot, I'm very happy.gom wrote:ShulaDon92 wrote:
