They think Mitchell Robinson who averages 8 and 8 for his career is going to shut down Jimmy and Bam with no problem. If anything Bam should be more effective this series not having to deal with Lopez inside.

I do think Robinson is going to provide a unique challenge to Bam on the inside. But the mid range will still be there, and Mitchell is more athletic/mobile but not as high IQ as Lopez. So he’s not someone I’d expect Bam not to be able to overcome. Plus it’s just one of him.

If he’s the offensive player even those of us who know he’s not some juggernaut can be, he can win his matchup against Mitchell.

Brunson will be interesting, as will their spark off the bench. Gabes D will play a big role in stopping those guys so Jimmy can concentrate more on offense without Herro to help. I know Jimmy is working on his baby Wade, incredible type resume, but I’m still worried about him getting burned out with the workload

Gabe gonna have his work cut out for him with Brunson. I’m also worried about Quickley, dude can get hot and will be an issue for us.

RJ Barrett has played us well the last few times we’ve matched up on the Knicks. Not sure who is taking that assignment, perhaps Jimmy or Caleb will need to make him work.

Would be nice to get some contribution from Strus and for Duncan to keep up his hot streak.

Jimmy on Brunson and Gabe on Barrett is my guess

Gabe was tasked with guarding Middleton so we already know that Spo is comfortable with having him guard up.

I like that. I like having a small scrappy guard on someone not super skilled like RJ just waiting on him to put the ball on the floor. RJ is far less skilled than Middleton and he doesn’t have the game like Middleton where you can clear it out and he’ll cook the smaller guy in the mid range/post

No worries if my posting here before the series isn't kosher, but if Julius is good to go, do y'all think spo is going to put Bam on Randle and rely on Love to keep Mitch/IH off the offensive glass?

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?
Hart: Run around like an idiot during the game and f*** s*** up!

I think that’s exactly how it will play out. Bam prefers defending on the perimeter, and with Love being slow footed, that seems to be the best matchup from our side.

How serious is Randle’s injury? Hope he heals up quickly, as we don’t want any more injuries to mar what should be a great matchup.

Wasn't sure if Spo would want Bam more free to roam or focused on taking away one of our two main stars, but having Bam on Ju and Love on the boards made the most sense to me.

From the way it's being reported he sounds unlikely to play game 1, and from the practice clips circulating on our board he still seems to be limping a bit. But Randle plays through pain a lot and has a bit of an ego about not missing time. So, as long as his leg isn't shattered, I expect him to get...medicated...enough to start. With Thibs leaning on Obi in the 2nd half (like he did in game 4) if Julius is hurting us out there.

And so f***in agreed on that last part. I'm going to be rooting for whichever of our teams wins this matchup to beat Boston or Philly (Jimmy); so hopefully the games are fun & intense without contributing to this postseason's already extensive casualty count *fingerscrossed*

That will definitely be the plan on our side, but it’s very possible NY puts Robinson on Bam from their side. It’s what I would do. To clog up the paint, force him to shoot, and make it easier to help off.

I think Bam will have a ton of open looks this series

On our board the best guess is that Hartenstein could see a lot more burn in this series since he's better in space than Mitch and so could be better suited to dealing with Bam bringing the ball up the court.

There were a lot of games this season where Mitch wasn't in foul trouble or playing poorly but Thibs only gave him 18-22min because Hartenstein just matched up better, and we're thinking this could be one of those series.
