Could’ve signed Zeller this last summer and not Dedmon, kept the pick, and still signed love after his buyout.

Bad take, dude. Every team relies on luck and relationships to team build. You don't get to discredit Riley because you don't like him. You blame him for all the bad but can't credit him for the good? It makes you look petty. You don't have to gush to say it was a solid signing...

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. Miami had the bi-annual exception in their back pocket and made a move to create wiggle room under the apron (preparation). Then, a player at a position of need became available and the combination of a starting role and better financial positioning, both for this year and next year, chose the Heat (opportunity).

No organization gets it right 100% of the time, but Miami has done better than most over the years. Having said that, I think were starting to see some frustration from Heat fans.

I feel the FO would’ve had dialogue with Love’s reps and known this was on the cards, hence the comfort in dumping Dedmon and a 2nd to open up exceptions to sign him. I doubt this was just a coincidence and we lucked into it. This stuff takes some planning.

Rumor has it that Love and Riley talked this out at a wedding recently just before the deadline. Of course only a rumor because of tampering but honestly this is how back door deals like this are done over a few johnny walker blue’s and some fine cigars lol

benhillboy wrote:I think they’re worth about 1.5 wins combined if Spo deploys them smartly/ creatively. Huge for the last 23 down the stretch. Anything to decrease wear and tear on Bam I’m with it.

Love has rarely played with so much screening and cutting. I think he’s gonna show off better passing chops than most would expect. Not necessarily assists but just solid, possession-advancing kicks. So long as they demolish the Hawks in their upcoming B2B set (like they usually do) I’ll be ecstatic lol.

I know it’s been doom and gloom here so I haven’t been logging on much. I simply don’t consume negativity when Jimmy Butler is involved in any form, especially when he’s sporting a damn .242 Win Share per 48. I also knew losing PJ’s hustle and screening would sting more than a little bit and I wouldn’t have even considered starting Tyler so the struggles thus far haven’t shocked me at all.

If Jimmy is healthy down the stretch the 5th seed is the Heat’s to lose, period. Of course they’ll be underdogs versus the Cavs but again they ain’t got Playoff Jimmy.

They both do have to pass the notorious Heat Health battery test though, let’s hope there aren’t any snags there.

This guy is a pretty knowledgeable poster, eh?
