We missed some key free throws in the third and fourth quarter, that in its self could had won us the game. We played small for way too long, giving them the ability to get 2nd chance points at the end of the game, that in itself lost us the game. Our guards playing Iso ball, and chucking early in the shot clock in the last 5 minutes of the game instead of playing smart like we had been doing the first three quarters, that in itself cost us the game. Multiple decisions made either by our players or coach that put us in a pickle, and even so we the game was there for the taking. I expect Jimmy in this game with the ball in his hands would not have allowed those atrocities to happen like they did at the end of the game.
All of that, and yet when it came time to look at a replay showing Bam running over a player way before a shot release, that should’ve had the ball on the sideline instead of a huge 4 point swing, and a foul call against the Heat when it was a Knicks own player push in the back, or Lowry being called for a foul against him when he was actually the victim. All these in the final minutes of a close hard fought game where neither team had a double digit lead prior to these unfortunate foul decisions, and none of these were rectified even with the replay showing the facts. For a team playing with its spare parts, it would be simply asking for the impossible.
I personally blame the league with it referees, not the Heat.
But I agree with you that if Spo plans on overcoming these anomalies, then he better stop with the stupid midget Lineups all the time plus everything you said on top.
Yea I mean we can talk about bad shot selection, defense, decision making etc. but in the end if we don’t get blatantly shafted by the refs we’re winning this game regardless of whatever else we want to talk about. The style we were playing worked, the league had to step in and take over to try and extend the series best they could. That’s the true anomaly and shouldn’t have been a factor in the game.
All I can say is here we are once again. We haven’t learned a thing about this league. We keep stumbling on the same rock, time and time again.
WWF at least presents us with a make believe product that we’ve come to know as scripted fake. The NBA tries to bullchit us with a partial real product. I say partial because somethings are real, like the players talent and competitive skills, but the end result isn’t always real, it’s manipulated by a set of unspoken techniques that unfortunately includes their number one enforcers, their referees. Often it takes a small dose of manipulation to accomplish the task, but then there are those times when a full blown in your face dose of manipulation is required and everything gets exposed, but of course they simply hide obvious explanations, or just simply look you in the eyes and with a straight face say there is nothing to see here.
Call it love for the game why I’m still here, but one day I’ll have enough.
