As I said on the GB, lots of overreactions. IMO, it basically comes down to the Celtics shooting an absurd % from 3. The likely scenario is a reversion to the mean and reasonable shooting covers for the Celtics's mistakes/shortcomings....whatever you want to call them.

I won't go through the shooting %s again, but Miami cannot count on Boston continuing to shoot so poorly.

Reverse holds true also. Miami hasn't been great from three either.....and we're talking about largely the same group of guys who contributed on the best 3pt shooting team in the league (started off miserably this year.....came around some post ASB). Lots of room for improvement on that front.

After shooting 34% from 3 for the year (27th in the NBA), Miami shot something like 45% from 3 against the Bucks ; they then shot 30% from 3 against the Knicks. In 2 games against Boston, Miami has shot 44% from 3.

To put that in perspective, only 2 teams have shot over 40% from 3 for a season in the last 10 years: the Clippers and the Warriors (2 times), and they shot around 41-42%. In the last 4 seasons, Miami has been Jekyll and Hyde from 3:

19-20: reg season 38%, playoffs 36%

20-21: 36% , 33.6%

21-22: 38% , 31%

22-23: 34% , 37.6% (so far)

In essence, Miami's 3-point shooting for the playoffs is about as good as it gets from this group. The shooting against the Bucks and against the Celtics (so far) is beyond elite by any standard. What would be unexpected is for Miami to continue shooting 40% from 3 in this series/these playoffs, but that is certainly possible over a short span of games.
