Been following the Riley regime for a long while. Dudes still a Laker you can see the influence but i will say we live in twin Riley realities:

Culture grit universe-
this is the John Starks riley. The overachieving is the heart of it deal. This is one way riley operates.

All in for the win-
the other realm of the riley universe. Hard work is great but we need those big guns to build the better weapon. Sell high, sell the kids, time to kill. All business. This is also the way riley operates.
