We can then trade the 2024 (15) selection after the draft and 2029 protected pick with unprotected roll over to 2030. It's interesting to say the least. Levert's 16 million would come off the books and be the difference the following year in covering the difference needed for Mitchell's 50 mil per max on our cap sheet.

That's why you should get on team "Run it back Harder" because when it happens you'll be mentally prepared for it and if it doesn't its still a great outcome on the other side. Role play your mind into accepting being uncomfortable for a bit.

Honestly It's not even up to Pat ATM.

We have middling assets. It is what it is.

It's up to Cavs front office, And up To Mitchell. If Mitchell says he's only extending with us, it gives us a chance because he's a free agent in a year. He can kill his market.

Then you ask yourself should we be giving all available picks + Jovic + Jamie or not.

Herro, Jaime, and 2 1st 2024 (15) and 2029 or 2030 looks like a fair offer to me. Don’t think we’ll need to include Jovic. I’m running with the recent report.

This would be completely throwing away Miami's defensive identity. I can't imagine a trade like this would ever go down under Riley/Spoelstra.

I don't quite agree with that. Ingram and Trae would be replacing Herro and Rozier. Neither of those two are considered even decent defenders. At least Ingram has the physical tools to be decent at it while Herro does not, and Rozier is who he is at this point. Trae is a wash with those two defensively but he has a much more potent offense than the other two. What would really hurt is letting go of Jovic. I think that dude will be a triple double threat on any given night if he keeps putting in the work. What we lose in this trade is more bodies that are a 3pt threat.

Good thing we got put out of our misery then. it still remains to be seen if we even do anything this upcoming season besides trying to offload money.

That's a fair argument, but I think seeing JJJ go in the deal + 0 defense coming back in is why I see the defensive posture going away. The upgrade offensively would be considerable, but in order to take advantage of it, Miami would have to radically change the way they play.
