I was there, it was amazing. We were 1-1 going into that game. Bosh embarrassed Boozer so badly that all the stupid talking head narrative of "the Heat should've gotten Boozer at a lower cost instead of Bosh and spent the rest on roleplayers" immediately and permanently died forever. That was the game that validated Bosh as a Heatle. Cant' believe it's already been more than a decade...

The saddest, most concerning thought I have about this organization is -
Have they learned NOTHING from the Herro/Dion/Duncan/James Johnson/Tyler Johnson/Whiteside mistakes??!?
The Offer we made to Martin (65 Mil for 5 years - which is almost DOUBLE what anyone else on the market offered him) really left me feeling we have no one to trust in this front office. It's baffling. It can't be excused. It's the clearest signle you can get to a front office that is just lost and incompetent...I can't let that thought go..........

It might be a nepotism thing. one of the downfalls of a family run organization is acknowledging that someone may not be the best at their job. loyalty and family is cool but u need an outside set of fresh eyes and ideas to say that cold hard facts in those meetings

Something like 95 million. Goal should be to pay out OKC’s pick. And open up 2029 and 2031 1st to trade next year.
This is the way, its what I have been preaching to my friends about our current dilema.
Here are the facts, in 2026 Offseason, the following players come off the books:
Kevin Love, Haywood Highsmith, Terry Rozier, Jimmy Butler(Assuming he opted in) Duncan Robinson.
The only Players on the books:
Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro(Assuming he isn't traded by then), Jaime Jaquez, Kelle Ware, Nikola Jovic(Assuming we extend him)
We also are eligible to trade 3 FRP's (assuming our pick conveyed in 2025, meaning we made the playoffs this year)
Miami would have the ability to retool in a complete manner in one direction, make strong sign and trades, absorb salaries, and put a very strong team together.
which now makes all the sense in the world why they have been handing out only 2 year contracts this offseason to both Kevin Love and Haywood Highsmith, to coincide with the others coming off the books. I think the FO is seeing the same thing.
I think the problem here is we have no foundation to entice a star player. We have no PG. We just have Bam, JJJ and thats it. Maybe Jovic or Ware shine and become starters or maybe they dont.
Is that enough to get a star player to forgo millions of dollars? Especially when they see how we treated Jimmy, the inability to get him help, and now the refusal to give him a one year deal. Seems like a very hard sell.
I don't think thats how it goes, weve been very successful in that past 5 years, and they have done what they can with what they have. Nobody sitting here saying we treated Jimmy wrong or that were a bad organization, we have done no such thing. Not extending Jimmy is the right way to go about this, its an aging player, the new CBA is not friendly to older stars on bloated contracts. We in turn have had to deal with Jimmy and his coasting in the season even though were aware thats the only way he manages to make it to the end of the season healthy.
Having the flexibility to build a new team is all the power Miami ever needs, something they haven't had in the past, lack of draft picks, good contracts, free space, etc. Players want to play with Bam, our issue has always been lacking of asset capital and or cap space to make things work. Bam is the foundation, Niko, JJJ, are all good pieces to have, by then Miami probably has 1-2 more other undrafted or drafted talent gems additionally.
Don't over analysis the situation, its not the end of the world for Miami Heat, theyll rebuild and retool once the opportunity presents itself.

Yeap this is the hardest thing for them to let go off, I think they need to let their undrafted players go out into the market and find the max they can get then negotiate from there, keep giving these guys 2-3x more than market value is not the way to go, they need to knip this in the butt.

He was worth the money when you look at his role and the team salary cap. Quit letting the market dictate a player's worth because there's a salary cap in place that sometimes limits a player's contract or lets a player get way overpaid. Good lord, Herro got 30 mil and people said that's what the market dictated, same with Robinson even with a possible replacement already on the roster... neither were worth that money and with that, move them in a sign and trade and get some assets or better value players/contracts on the roster.

I hard disagree with this, were moving into a new CBA era, theres no longer middle ground contracts the sooner we realize this the easier it will be. Your going to have to walk me through your idea of how he is worth that money, because it makes no sense to me. Do not mention he should have been ECF MVP in one playoff series vs the Celts when he wasn't scouted, and does what role players should do pick up the slack for a short period of time. Did you know that Caleb was in the top 10 of worst at rim FG% last season, he has a history of degenerate knee arthritis condition and flare ups, was also below average in all defensive analytical categories and has only been a plus defender 1 season out of his career with the Miami heat, vs just being average or below after that.
I get it, we have this idea of what Caleb is in our heads because of a couple games in the playoffs, but to continue to give role players bloated contracts is asinine. Also what a terrible comp with Herro for so many reasons, where Herro was seen as an overpay as well and look how that turned out. Also the reason his contract is warped has more to do with all the 6.5M dollars in incentives added on that count towards the cap in the new CBA. If Herro was 22-25M like he should of been nobody would be batting an eye right now.

The only thing this franchise is good at right now is scouting, our scout team is pretty elite. FO is complete ****, I’m baffled they had to be saved by his agent. Franchise is nothing without Wade, bring him in
Wade doesn't want his family to live in Florida because of his trans kid, so that won't be an option.

"nip it in the bud".
And yeah I agree. Overpaying for limited role players is insane.
