I’m buying this fool’s gold lol. He has a player opt out in his contract which may force Utah to sell for a below average price. Need to take advantage here

I remember how butt hurt many were when we had to attach the great young asset Justise Winslow for a mid 30’s player Iggy who was sitting out for months and many hated the idea of Crowder. Well that was a trade that put that team over the hump and gave us a chance at a chip. There’s many trades out there that are similar but everyone is so reluctant to make a move unless we take the other team to the woodshed.
Justise Winslow
Dion Waiters
James Johnson
That was the package for Iggy and Crowder.
JJJ or Jovic or Ware
Robinson
Rozier
That’s the new package for getting a similar package of players. Collins and Sexton? DFS and Schroder?
Wild how year 1 was arguably the best overall build and fit roster wise of this era smfh

They had a full year of that build though we snagged those guys in 2020 at the deadline so I’d wonder how it would compare.

We're 13-10, good enough for 5th in the East.
We lost to the Kings by 1 point earlier on in the season, a game in which we lead in the third quarter by 15.
We lost to the Suns by 3 points earlier on in the season, a game in which we lead in the third quarter by 14.
We lost to the Pistons by 2 points a couple of weeks ago (Spo's 'choke' game in which he called a timeout when we didn't have any and it resulted in automatic free-throws + possession of the ball for Detroit).
Had we won the 3 games mentioned above, we would be sitting at 16-7 and 3rd place in the East. We would only be 2.5 games behind Cleveland for 1st place. We'd also have the 4th overall best record in the NBA.
Crazy to think about just how different the narratives would be.
This team has found it out with this starting lineup and reduced role for Rozier. We can move Jimmy, we can add to Jimmy finally, or we can stand pat (pun intended). I would love to just for once go all in and see what happens

I don’t see an all in move cause we just don’t have the draft equity for an all in star move but we definitely have the Crowder and Iguodala move in us.

Re: 2024-25 Regular Season Thread Vol. 1
Yea I just compared our 1st seed roster to the 2020 roster post crowder/Iggy and it’s not even close. 2020 roster is much better imo. If you remember game 7 of 2023 it was literally just Bam/Jimmy when it mattered most and everyone else was **** their pants that game. 2020 was a much more complete roster not over littered with undrafted guys.
Dragic
Herro
Bam
Jimmy
KO
Meyers
Nunn
Crowder
Iggy
Duncan
DJJ
Solomon Hill
If Dipos knees weren’t cooked it might’ve been up for debate. Man, how did we fall so far

Yea I’d love it, like you said sexton/Collins or Schroder/DFS would be similar but we just have to hope
They’re interested in any of our young guys. None have helped their value this year at all

I'm ready for one last playoff run. If things don't go well, blow it up in the summer.

Whatever we do (and it’s very likely we do nothing or trade butler based on reports than actually trying to improve the team) we need to make sure we have enough in the cupboard for Fox this summer when he asks out.

Re: 2024-25 Regular Season Thread Vol. 1
If I had to rank what we were going to do in order if think something like:
1. Do nothing/make a marginal move
2. Trade Jimmy
3. Bolster the roster to try and make a run

Based off our history i could see us trading our 2026 2nd rd pick to get off of Bryant or J Rich’s money and roster spot so it frees up enough money to sign Dru and Keldon Johnson lol. We are the best front office in giving away 2nd rd pick assets to get off contracts we never should have signed in the first place

I was going to go on a long rant about how trash this front office has been in the Jimmy era after they got ranked 3rd the other day but I decided not to, that was going to be mentioned in there in detail lol
