That 18 points per game would be huge. Jagsmith's 6 ppg and Jaime's 9 ppg ain't gonna cut it.

We desperately need a reliable third scorer.

He's been averaging 20 ppg and 7 fta since becoming the no.2 option when everyone fit hurt, so his last 15ish games.

Are you the AirP replacement? He was our resident Jimmy Butler stan. We welcome you if you are the Wiggins stan. Thanks for the Wiggins info. We are thrilled to have him.

As long as Crazy-Canuck brings that good juju and we get the "hidden talent" Andrew Wiggins that Jimmy Butler supposedly talked about and we stop getting blown out by the likes of Brooklyn because we can't put the Fn ball in the Fn basket, he/she is more than welcome. #MapleJordanEra #DefenseWinsChampionshipUnlessYouCantScore

No idea who airp is, but wouldn't classify myself as a stan. More like a wiggjns realist. I've studied his game and numbers, so not many of my opinions are based on stanisms. At least now it gives me an ec team to follow closer since butler is off it. I love guys like steph and wiggins because they are genuine nice guys.

I will tell you now, he will divide the Miami fans and it will have little to do with wiggins himself.

Heat fans are divided with everyone down to our last two way so all good. AirP was our resident Butler homer and has vacated us after many years to head to the Golden St board. We welcome your realist views for many years on here on Mr Wiggins.

Ill probably split my time until steph retires :D

Ive been digging deeper into the heat recently, and unsurprisingly alot of the same issues here inflict the Warriors. I'm happy to answer any questions you all have about wiggs.

He’ll have plenty of freedom with the ball in his hands here to create and play make. We’ve been sorely missing someone to help Herro with his type of skill set. Like many of us in here we are excited to see Wiggins get unlocked even further under Spo. Golden State don’t have lob bigs like Ware and Bam so he should be able to have some fun playing off of them.

The only negative I’ve heard about Wiggins is a lack of consistent motor, can you speak on that?

That's a double edged sword.

He isnt that type of player, not consistently anyways due to his handle.
His hand,e is good enough to bring the ball up and initiate the offense, but he he can't create offense like Jimmy.

When wiggs goes down hill, hes a drive and kick guy. And because of his insane hang time, he gets an extra split second to find an open shooter. If he doesn't get stripped.... but in Miami, maybe he gets the benefit of a whistle. He's also decent at pocket passes. Those are probably the only kind of consistent play making he will do for others.

Motor is the wrong description. He just doesn't look like he's moving, if that makes sense. Perception.

1. He runs like a track athlete with long strides. He looks like he is jogging, yet you see him chase down people or run away from people on a break.

2. He never sweats nor looks tired. He does that 2 hands on the hip to take a breather like track athletes. He'll chase guys through screens for 35 minutes, drop 20, and he'll look like he's just warming up. I think espn did an article on him, physically optimized is probably the best way to describe it.

What he does have is passivity/niceness. Everyone can see he can be the best player on the court, yet he's happier when others succeed. It's just how he's wired. He'd rather see a teammate get 20 shots up than he take shots from them. It's like pulling teeth to watch him, that's where the frustrations will come. You won't even notice him some nights until you read the boxscore and see he dropped 17 pts.

But if he's locked in like a big game, big match up, or he's being attacked. You'll feel him on the court. It's nothing to do with hot shooting, you will feel the impact through the screen.

This season is no different. The first 25 games, he was content being a 3rd or 4th guy. About an 18 usg, 12 shots, and just defend. He will defer to everyone. When everyone started getting hurt and steph was getting smothered, wiggs took his game another level. He started hunting shots. His usg went to like 23%, his fta's nearly double, and he was involved more in clutch time and 4th quarters. In his last 15 teams games before the trade, he actually lead the team in scoring. They played 7 clutch games, and he scored 2.7 pp clutch game (steph 3.0). They went 5-2 in those 7 games. And was averaging about 5 ppg in the 4th.

No idea which wiggs you will get. That's where spo will need to work his magic. Wiggs is perfectly happy being a wallflower at a club and be the wingman. He just doesn't know that he might be the best looking person in the club.

Hopefully he and Herro can coexist. Herro’s playing at an all star level this year but does like a big shot diet

As Crazy-Canuck said Wiggins main problem is that he is a very kind person and does not force things.
The team has to force him and make clear to him that we want you to score.
Otherwise he will not complain if he scores 17-18ppg.
But he is capable of a lot more

He is very capable to drive to the basket 1vs1 and if you give him screens he will score or pass the ball to the mismatch that is created by his attack.
He has improved his 3pt shooting the years with GS and his freethrows the last 2 seasons.

My personal opinion is that he is better as a sg than as a sf because he is more invloved in this position.
But Kerr used him as a sf and as a pf some seasons.
He played pf without complains even if he is around 205 pounds. But he is very strong for a 205 pounds guy

Playmaking ability on this team is just low. Way too many touches for Herro and Bam.

Duncan

Off the bench

At least remove the JJJ and Rozier minutes from the experience please.

Why?

With Jimmy gone, and with a new outlook on the team’s timeline, isn’t the point to empathize the development of the young guys?

This team is a fringe playoff team (if they even get in) with no shot of making it out of the first round; I don’t even think they would even win 1 game against Bos or Clev.

Why not embrace the remainder of the year as an opportunity to evaluate the young prospects and figure out a plan for the future instead of fooling themselves that they can actually meaningfully compete this season?

All reasonable. I guess we differe at 1) If the teams stated belife system and policy is to alway do their very best to win at every time. You can't also give minutes to players that has no business staying on the court because of their poor play. That's a cultural conflict and an organisation's structure quickly crumbles if it continues

2) I don't believe it's positive for development to get minutes when you shouldn't, especially in a long downward spiral with better option available. At some point minutes has to be earned to progress, build confidence and taking a step forward.

And sorry for my English. Not my 1st language.

It's up to spo not to mess up the new guys. I don't trust him in that.

An honest player fan who isn’t a stan/homer & doesn’t front like a long term Heat fan. Welcome to Heat forum mate!
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade
