The offense speaks for itself with Durant but Bam sandwiched between 2 mobile 7 footers would be insane defensively

Kelel 7’1
Bam 6’9
Durant 6’10

That trio would be a dynamic force

Yep Tyler didn’t have it going and was turning it over like crazy so we went with the team approach

Barely scraped by the tanking Sixers at home and lost to the Mavs D team without Edrice but he’ll catch shots for almost getting us Ws in Cleveland and against a top 3 player in the world

We need more ball handlers next year to limit Herro’s turnovers. Preferably sign a vet min guy like Brogden, priority resign Mitchell to a TJ McConnell deal, and draft our young waiting in the wings PG.

I dont want to speak for anyone else....but....

I think the general consensus of the anti KD train... was... this team is/was well beyond an old KD from contention...

In the last 20 games or so, Bam is starting to tick up how often he tries to score, Larrson is starting to look like he is worth real minutes, and Anderson and Mitchell are proving to be extremely capable

I personally don't want KD...I want those limited resources spent on someone more inline with Bam and Tyler's window...but...if you dropped KD on this team over the last 10 games, the team could have legitimately gone 10-0...he could move the needle enough to think this team could have post season success.

One of the things about KD is if we land him he definitely won’t be the final move/signing

Considering he’ll be getting a 60 mil per extension i would say he’ll be the primary move. If you resign
Mitchell the money under the tax will be reserved for some minimum players. We have to match 54 million which will be Rozier, Wiggins, and JJJ. Duncan’s ETO is the wiggle room under the cap to resign Mitchell.

I’m meaning moreso of we’ll have some vet minimum guys lining up to come here that can be difference makers. As for a star requesting to come here, I’m not sure if that’ll happen or not but if so we’ll have Herro, Anderson, and Highsmith to match salaries there. We shall see

It depends on definition of post season success. If its 2nd round exit. Then yes.
We are at the play in again and have been past couple seasons. This season isn't an anamoly. This who they are. You get KD you are back to where youu were with Butler, a 2nd round team with a 2 year window. And KD isn't a MVP level guy who can make an average/below average team really good. It's a waste of resources. Then when a younger star who gives you more time to improve the roster comes around, you don't have enough to trade for that star. The run for the last 6 games shouldn't change anyone overall opinion on this team

Even if we completely ignore the fact that KD is better than Jimmy, a better fit with our team than Jimmy, brings the exact thing this team is/was missing with or without Jimmy, and actually tries in the regular season…..even if it took us back to the Jimmy days those days never resulted in a 2nd round exit lol. Plus, who knows what’s to follow a KD, maybe they’re more inclined to go all in with KD on the roster. Maybe internal growth from Bam Herro Ware and Jovic for another season does wonders for us.

There’s so many different variables

I do not want to trade for KD....but I just can't see KD and Jimmy on the same level, let alone the rest of the team.

Far too often Miami hit pause on the offense, sent the 4 other guys to the other side of the court so Jimmy could do his iso thing. KD simply fits the rest of the team wayyyyy better.

This year KD is like 50% on catch and shoot corner 3s on high volume. That is gravity...he can't be ignored from range...he will pull people out Bam and Ware's area. Jimmy can't do that.

KD is in 40%+ from the area we normally run Duncan dribble hand off....he would be a match up nightmare for the defense. Go under? Go over?...he is not nearly a one dimensional player like Jimmy. On top of that, you really are starting to challenge other teams size. Bam/Ware/KD are all lengthy dudes.

Besides KD, this team looks more promising than the team put around Jimmy. I just don't see Jimmy's version of Bam and Herro as good as our current version of Herro and Bam. This Herro is smarter, and this Bam has more range and is harder to guard. Ware is probably the most talented Big we have been able to put on the court with Bam, just as Mitchell is probably the best complementary guard we have been able to pare with Herro.

I dunno amigo...I am really high the frame of a team we can build on next year. I don't want KD, I want a young dude on Tyler and Bam's timeline...but I think KD's fit is better than JB's fit.

Player Assists Turnovers AST/TO Ratio
Trae Young 847 345 2.45
Don Mitchell 348 146 2.38
Tyler Herro 414 187 2.21
Luka Dončić 359 167 2.15
Ja Morant 344 177 1.94

Tyler is fine, he's in the middle of the pack for a high usage guy. It can still improve and that would be nice, but it's nothing that really stands out as very negative. He won't ever be CP3 or Hali level, who are the absolute elite when it comes to that.
