Talks with other teams are heating up. Better get Knecht before he’s gone.
Xoxo.
We are all so sick and goddamn tired of your corny ass PIMPlinka shtick. Nobody here wants that bust, Dalton Knecht. We are very happy with our own home-grown bust, Kasparasshole Jakoffcionis. Warnings and bans are being issued. Some of your cornball post are being left up for record but others will be deleted to spare us further pain and misery. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

You can’t go ”all in” all the time… there just ain’t enough assets to have that type of control to go all in all the time.
Fanboy back to same bullsh*t. Get the f*ck out of here if you dislike Miami Heat so damn much. You can glaze Edrica frm your cave lol
People act like the 90s Heat were some type of Joke
That was one of the top teams in the league they just happened to play in Jordan’s Eastern Conference. Then in 2000 made some moves to really contend, and were finals favorites in the post Jordan era. Had Zo, Hardaway, Thunder Dan, Prime Eddie Jones, Bruce Bowen, Ricky Davis, and Brian Grant. Then Zo gets diagnosed with Kidney disease right before the season starts, and that build goes with it.
Miami was an expansion team before Riley got there in 95, and he flipped them almost immediately into a team hovering around championship contention for the last 30 years. The disrespect has gotten to be a bit too much.
In those 30 years they have been in the conference finals 10 of those years. So 1/3rd of the time since Riley arrived in South Beach we’ve been playing a 7 game series to get into the finals, do you understand how wild that is?
To put it in modern terms this would be like some guy showing up in Charlotte back in 2011 turning them into a perennial contender and the top team in the Eastern Conference over a 3 decade span
Yup--Zo was literally the runner-up for MVP in 1999 and #3 in MVP voting in 2000, squarely in his prime at 29. Then Miami supercharged their roster by adding Brian Grant, Anthony Mason (went on to have an All-Star season), and Eddie Jones (and only really losing Jamal Mashburn) ready for a SERIOUS run at winning it all, and sadly Zo was lost for nearly the entire season with kidney disease. My biggest what-if as a Heat fan.
That's 2 separate instances in the past 25 years where Miami lost an All-Star big man squarely in their prime to non-basketball related illness. That's about six of the past 25 seasons where Miami has had max money on the payroll that was effectively negated due to health issues. Kinda mind blowing still.

I remember when expiring contracts were a hot commodity. They don't hold the same value anymore.
Maybe we're better off just holding on to Rozier and using the cap space we create next off season?

Would be nice if they told him just to stay home until a trade or buyout is worked out. You want KJ learning from that guy in practice? His contract is currently 26.6 against the books right now but the real figure is 24.9 guaranteed. With being 1.4 over the books right now that 1.7 mil savings at end of the year has us under the tax. He can be bought out after the trade deadline and that money can be used to sign a min vet or lock in a two way player.

Realistically, Lakers would ask for Ware, Wiggins, Jovic, filler and probably a pick
Mia would say no and the question would be if Mia is willing to trade away any of their young players for LBJ.
Also wouldnt surprise me if Herro's name were hypothetically discussed.

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
I think expirings still have value, just not in every situation. Like if LeBron and Giannis ended up asking out they’d probably like some expiring money coming back, especially the Bucks considering giannis has long term money on the books they can free up.
If you’re a trash team with expirings (like us
) and are willing to take back bad contracts with long term money (we’re not) freeing the books for those teams likely results in you getting some assets back. Not everyone wants to just waive and stretch $100M+ contracts like the Bucks and Suns, that kills a good chunk of your cap. Bucks basically paid $50M a year for Turner coming off a finals performance where he was the 11th best rebounder as a starting center, just reeks of desperation to try and make giannis feel like you’re actually trying to win.
EDIT: to speak on our situation, we’re probably tryin to move Terry for other expiring contracts and we are probably trying to do so without adding any sort of asset (maybe a 2nd at most) and considering how bad Terry has been since getting here, we’re having issues finding a deal.

If LeBron was willing to extend for 2 years I’d assume our max offer would be similar to the KD trade, if not then it’s probably less. I also don’t think it really matters because he’s going wherever he wants to go and that team is likely getting a massive bargain of a deal

Wiggins and Rozier for Lebron and Bronny is oddly an exact salary match lol. That’s pretty much all we should be sending. Maybe toss in a 2nd rd pick. Would be sort of a last dance type deal like when we got Wade from the Cavs for a 2nd.

If he’s signing an extension and ending his career here after year 3 or whatever I’d be down to throw in a 1st but yea if he’s playing 1 more season that’d be a solid deal for sure. Would make the season(s) a hell of a lot more interesting at least and I’m sure any owner would love to be hosting the LeBron farewell tour.

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
Lebron dynamic is def weird. LA shifting to Luka focus; LeBron opted into his deal; rumblings that this could be LeBrons last season. I don't think his ego will take well to not being the central figure in his final season--esp with him still performing as a top player in the league.
IDK that this will be his last season tho, so maybe he's just playing out the season and competing and then moving to a team of his choosing from there. Any team with 2 players that can both play as top 10 players in the world on any given night has a chance to win it all.

Absolutely zero reason to throw in any young assets for a 41 year old Lebron i don’t care how well he’s playing. He basically should be treated as a free agent via trade at this stage. A token 2nd is about it. I don’t see any teams around the league he would want to go to that’s built to send 54 million in contracts for him. Honestly we may be the only team that he could come to that’s built to send out a Rozier and Wiggins and still have the entire team core intact.

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
I feel like if LeBron stays he’s more likely to be 1 and done but if he leaves he’ll sign a 1-2 year extension if you can even add just 1 season idk if you can. Dont see him jumping ship and then just leaving his next team after 1 year but who knows. I also think he opted in because it’s much easier to get a trade done that way.
