The play-in tournament allowed an unqualified team to win two extra games just to squeeze in.

Lol, me agreeing that they are the worst #10 seed is in tongue in cheek. Because they are also the best #10 seed as well because no #10 seed won two games to make the playoffs EVER. You see? Just absolutely no dd on your part. Just whining n whining about your own team

Our seed doesn't matter. It was the playoffs and we barely showed up.

Where he is wrong is saying that it was the "worst performance in the NBA playoffs HISTORY". The Nuggets and Mavs both lost in the 1st round as #1 seeds. There's also the #1 seed Bucks that we gentleman swept in the 1st round just a couple of years ago. Those are far far worse.

Youre right… but we did have the most lopsided first round loss in nba history. So thats a record that no one has. Just us, led by Herro.

This is a team with a 15 win season, been swept coming off a ring and lost as a 1 seed in the first round.

Better they lost in the play in, but then we would hear how Herro can't beat Trae Young despite him outplaying him repeatedly.

But if you start Derozan, I don't think you can also start Bam and Ware together because of the spacing. In this case, I think it would be more optimal to have Jovic start in place of Kel'el:

Herro
Derozan
Wiggins
Jovic
Bam

With a bench unit of

DMitchell
Powell
Larrson
Jaime/Fonteccio
Ware

KP, Keshad, Goldin, etc. all 3rd stringers.

This would be a deep team in which five (5) players could realistically score 20+ on any given night (Herro, Derozan, Wiggins, Bam, Powell). We'd still have the issue of not having a true #1 option, but history has shown that when you don't have an alpha, the second best thing is to have multiple betas.

Here's the thing, I don't know if this really makes sense lineup wise. Derozan does not space the floor. At all. And now you're giving up size and defense too.

Yup, the score is a score. Nothing to be ashamed of imo, unless there was a big expectation and ]
"was a better seed

Really? losing by the highest margin in NBA history is nothing to be ashamed of?!?

WTF are we even doing here.

Sure we were underdogs, and there's no shame in losing to a better team.

But losing IN THE WAY THAT WE DID, looking absolutely pathetic, uncompetitive, broken, with no fight in us - that's 100% shameful and embarrassing.

The argument that we were a 10 seed and not a 8 seed has zero relevancy here, we lost in a disgraceful way to a team that wasn't even some historically great team. We gave up. Stop with the delusional re-writing of history. We all saw it. It was sad.

Seriously? You are ashamed? Really?
I don't even think the players were.
Wtf, we are doing? Fans or players?
I as a fan just watch the games as an "entertainment".
Players get paid millions to play and u should know most of them don't give a f about wins n losses more than their own short careers.
So wtf we talking about this like this is some sort of a National disaster? Yup, they gave up n dropped the curtain before the show was over. Big deal!

There's a reason only top 8s made the playoffs for 70 plus years before the covid foced the league to create more games for their broadcasting partners.
Let's just do away with the play-in tournament if that makes fans so embarrassed to even go out to work now, lol. It's a game, an entertainment. Get over it. They weren't #1 seed that got embarrassed.
They were #10 seed w 37 wins. Again, get over it

I don't even think about the series against Cleveland that much unless some here mention it. That fourth game was terrible, or let's say "embarrassing" as competitors. They just stopped trying.
But seriously that series means nothing to me other than Heat becoming the first #10 seed to make the playoffs.
If I was to rank the most "embarrassing" moments in Miami Heat history, I don't even think I'd include it.
LeBron's first finals against Dallas and JJ Barea is up there. Heat losing to Knicks as the #1 seed against #8 is way up there.
Last year's team, I had no expectations other than hoping for one win, cuz the sweep sucks. I saw the series as more of a training camp for some of our players, nothing more

Lol, this was the start of a far more embarrassing season than last year

I was routing for the Heat to break another record, getting the highest loss in a playoff game in game 4 when they were close, because I like breaking records and was annoyed they made the playoffs and didn't take the opportunity for a lottery pick (record still belongs to New Orleans, they lost by 58 points)

Memphis beat OKC 152-79 on Dec. 2, 2021 the 73-point margin there being the biggest in NBA history

Does any of this matter to any of these franchises? nope, who cares, blowouts happen and sometimes the bench/backup guys increase the margin

Return to Miami Heat
