Banks was a lottery pick, I didn't know that. lol

btw, love Riles' comment about we can't wait 5 years to turn this ship around.

Though, I'm skeptical to see Riley change his ways, but with the current players we have, especially with Marion, and he having a key role on this team, he's going to have to change his ways. Should be very interesting.....

+1...that's probably his ONLY flaw. He's an amazing person, a spectacular player, but his habit of constantly feeling slighted clearly created some tension.

With that being said, I'd do anything to have him back....

Banks was a high draft pick in 2003. I think the boy could come good in Miami. Think Marion is a top 15 player in the NBA.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

We haven't been the greatest fans of Marcus Banks in Phoenix since he came over to us when we missed out on Salmons, but whenever he actually had a decent run (nash/bell injured) he seemed to play well.

We always said when we were trying to trade him that he'd be the perfect guy to come of the bench and replace wade as sort of a poor mans Dwayne Wade, the guy can also flat out play D.

Marion is marion, he the damn MATRIX@!!!!1!!!

we need an all star center and we are good to go...i love our core defense esp now with haslem, marion, wright, banks...all solid defenders...we need that one piece....

To be honest, I seriously think we have to try to get j oneal in the worst way...yeah hes on the downslide but he could be had for cheap and would fit what we are trying to do with running and can slow the game down as well...in the draft, if we dont get the 1st pick, then i would draft deandre jordan and try to develop him into our center of the future since we can wait for him to develop with o neal on board...if we get the 1st pick, then all bets are off and take beasley

j oneal/jordan
haslem
marion/wright
wade
west?/banks

Now that is a bad*** team

my offer to indy would be blount, j will, cook for o'neal...just hope that they would take it

Jermaine O'Neal $19mil a year. That is $2mil more than Marion and $1mil less than Shaq. Financially it doesn't make sense unless Marion is part of the trade to get him. I rather keep Marion, load the perimeter with scorers, slashers and shooters and find cheaper options at Center/Power Forward with pure rebounders/defenders.

If Marion gets a contract extension, is he going to ask for a maximum contract????

Yea, but JO is not the answer for a bigman. The guy is declining faster and more injured than Shaq, and at the same $. No thanks.

true but i think o'neal can be effective for at least the remainder of his contract and in my scenario wed draft deandre jordan to be our center of the future...i think it at least has a chance of working out

Yea I guess I can agree with that. I mean he could bounce back next year, but who knows.

60 over 5 seems more reasonable.

But, he's more than likely looking at something a bit more than Gerald Wallace got, thats for sure...

Trix isn't worth $20 million a year for any team except MAYBE to the Suns because of their style of play. For a slow half court offense he is just another good player. He can only shoot when alone because he shots from the waist, i.e., not a jump shooter.

If I were the Heat I wouldn't even think about giving Trix a new contract because is going to demand max money... and that hurts any team in a rebuild stage. He'll opt in for next season... so use his expiring for leverage in new trades and draft picks.
