Nickelback are seen by many as the downfall of modern rock. I just wouldn't use them to try and sell Canada's positives the same way a primary school teacher wouldn't put pedophilia on their resume if they were going for a job.
In fact, now that I know Nickelback is Canadian, I'm advocating Calderon to the Heat for the MLE. We might just have a chance.

That's a characterization of your own preferences though; their popularity is not the downfall of modern rock. The lack of musical talent and the focus on cookie-cutter bands are the actual downfall of modern rock, along with societal trends towards lesser intelligence, preoccupation with trivial matters and shortening attention spans.
The fact of the matter remains that, at least in terms of capitalistic success, Nickelback is a something significant to consider. I could say the same of American products like Brittney Spears but we're talking about an objective valuation here, not a value assessment in the sense of morality and quality.
