We should lock all draft related threads and forbid discussing the draft until Tuesday after the lottery. Or we could start a thread called "The big question:Bayless or Lopez"

Well if they weren't mental drifts he is totally incapable of playing anything near quality defense and I don't want him on my team. I'll let the lack of passing out of the post slide, assuming it to be a result of a lack of quality teammates.

i know the competition leaves something to be desired but just look at beasley's inside-outside game and the ease with which he scores

its a thing of beauty

Yeah I was actually drooling over that video again the other day. The guy is extremely talented and I'd love for the Heat to pick him up. No question.

most of his scores came from the perimeter thought. Any videos of him consistently scoring from the low post since that would be the main reason we draft him over Rose?

Lol it's quite easy to just go on youtube and post a video of Rose making every shot he takes and every good pass he makes, but it's pointless. You say the main reason you want Beasley here is because of his post presence, but how many times in that video did he actually go into the post?

And second, playing a video of Beasley horsing highschool level kids does absouletly nothing.

This is the kind of stuff that gets me. A lot of people just didn't watch Beasley play this year. If they did, then they'd realize how much time he spent in the post. 75% I'd say.

He's a PF, post player, big man, whatever you'd like to call him. It should be an added bonus to how good he is when you see him in a video killing people from the perimeter. That's extra value to his post play. The guys a fantastic scorer from everywhere.

.......

I refuse to say which player is the better fit. It's generated too much crazy discussions. I'll take either one. I'm just praying for a top two pick.

Well, for the up-tempo system Spoelstra is going to run, Rose is the better fit.

The team doesn't need Beasley when you already have Haslem, Dorrell, and Marion.

But Rose would be a huge upgrade over J-Will and Quinn.

PG is a position of need for Miami.

The only competition Beasley would have would be at PF. That's the position he would be playing. He's an exponentially better player than Haslem offensively and as a rebounder.

Position of need is a good basic tool to start deliberating at, but the truth is, the Heat are a poor scoring and rebounding team, which favors Beasley.

Sorry I wasn't supposed to comment.... :banghead:

Rose will be the Miami pick if they get #1. D Wade has already stated that's who he wants, and Riley loves the kid's play.

IMO Beasley is Derrick Coleman II.

Kobe wanted Kidd
Tmac wanted Okaford etc

Pat will pick the best play who ever that is. What i love is all of this info leaking that Pat wants Rose. Since when does this organization ever leak info? If they say Rose then the pick is Beasley, if they say Beasley then the pick is Rose. Remember how all the info was "leaked" that we wanted Kaman or Lampe

I never said otherwise. I was just stating the obvious from the video so don't "let it get to you". Beasley was a dominating PF in college no doubt about it although he still has to prove he can do it against the bigger NBA PF's which along with his defense would be the main things he would need to work on once in the league. Dude can score and WILL score in the NBA. Let's hope he is more like Kevin Garnett than Al Harrington if we draft him.

i agree with that
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."
