I love what Durant had to say about B-easy, and Michael's closing words.

Wow, I just saw a stat that scared the crap out of me.

Beasley averaged 17 shot attempts for every one assist. :o :-?

I know his team sucked, but that just screams Zach Randolph. He averaged 1.2 assists per game, you can get that amount on accident. How does someone who gets doubled and tripled all game only get 1.2 APG?

His assist to FGA ratio was 0.07.

Amare Stoundemire's was .09 last year in a pass-happy offense ... with Nash, Shaq, Marion, Hill, Bell, and Barbosa to pass to. And I'm sure there are other great players with even worse ratios.

When a guy hits 56% on his 2pt FGs like Beasley did, plus he grabs the rebound when he does miss, I say he should shoot it whenever he wants.

Um, that Kansas State team was downright terrible in all regard. We're talking about a team that doesn't even make the NIT without Beasley.

He had to take the bulk of shots. That was the only way they were winning games, him carrying them.

Good points from both of you. I have full confidence in Beasley's ability, just something like that scares me initially. But when you break it down its not nearly as bad as it first seems.

“He’ll never grow up,” he said. “I doubt Michael is ever going to get it.”

“He’s almost always talking, and almost never on time,” the respected basketball official said. “If he’s on time, he’ll be the last one to show up. And he’s always got a question. He’ll ask a lot of questions because he wants people to think he’s paying attention – because he’s not paying attention.

“He’s not a bad kid, but I do think he makes similar decisions as bad ones

[Ed's note: After yesterday's news that Michael Beasley had been dinged up in his very first practice, we had him check in with a first-hand account.]

So by now you've probably read somewhere on the internet that my first official practice with the Heat got KO'd when I caught an elbow in the chest. I don't know who's elbow got me and I really didn't feel like I got drilled or anything, it just happened to hit me in a weird spot on my chest and kind of stunned me.

I had some shortness of breath and the trainer came out and checked me. Once he determined there was no immediate threat, they sat me down courtside for further inspection. I had a really sore spot in my chest, so just as a precaution I went to a local hospital to get examined. I was there for about 2 hours for exams and x-rays, and they found a very, very slight fracture of the sternum. I couldn't believe it. What are the odds of getting banged up on the first day of practice?

I wanted to play in the evening practice, but of course the Heat would not let me. In fact, they're going to keep me out of contact for 3-5 days just to be safe. By that time the very slight fracture will have healed.

Freak thing. But no worries Heat fans, it's no big deal.

I went to the evening practice and did non-contact stuff, like shooting drills, and I feel 100% but again the Heat want to be on the cautious side so no contact.

I'll probably wear a slim protective wrap of some sort for Summer League games, which hopefully the Heat will let me play in next week.

I definitely want to play in The Orlando Summer League next week. I haven't played live 5 on 5 in a while I am dying to get back in the flow. Plus our first game is against D-Rose and Chicago so I don't want to miss that one.

Also I know it's only the first practice, but I think our squad could be nice. The roster is stacked. Me, Chalmers and Daequan Cook, plus Pat Calathes who can flat out shoot, Josh Duncan who does all the little things, Marco Killingsworth who is a beast inside. The list goes on and on.

I'm going to be so disappointed if he doesn't get to play on Monday.

if Calathes can really shoot the lights out, he could be the new Pono specialist

Except this guy is 2 inches taller, is a better rebounder, and a MUCH better play maker.I love this kid, if he turns out to be a good 3 point shooter I think he can not only make the team but maybe get some minutes too.

Didn't see much of him play this year, but I did see his brother at Florida and he is reeaaalll good. I'd definitely be interested in him next year if he decides to come out.
