lol wut?

Dallas offense, 6 games against Portland = 201-442 shooting (45.5%) (93.3 PPG)
Dallas offense, 3 games against Miami = 89-212 shooting (42%) (88.3 PPG)

that's a crock. Forced turnovers are caused by the defense, and unforced errors are caused by the flaws of the team

I've never understood why some marginal players like to run their mouths. I don't really believe in "extra motivation" at this stage, but I doubt there will be a hard time maintaining focus and energy tomorrow. God.

Hope we take the series in 5 and troll all over their home court. Middle fingers and all. Some people don't deserve to be treated with class. I don't even want our guys shaking hands with these bitches.

Save Dirk, Caron, and Jason Kidd. No respect for the rest of that team.

That whole organization is filled with whiny bitches from their owner to the players to the fans. You'd think they'd keep quiet the day after the refs rigged a game in their favor to try to help them win.

It really, really doesn't matter. 2 more games. Terry can then go on believing he outplayed wade and lebron for all I care.

I wouldn't call Jason Kidd a "class act", didn't he beat his wife? It just goes to show how off our perceptions of people can be when its just based on how they play basketball, a couple interviews and the fluff pieces their publicists set up.

I don't see anything wrong with what Terry said. He said he's welcoming the challenge and admitted that he got stopped in games 1 and 3 and that we'll see if his opponents can keep it up the whole series. Am I missing something? Whats wrong with that? If one of our guys said that, we wouldn't bat an eye.

Not sure why Stevenson made that public but I would absolutely tell my players to try to get a fast break while Wade or Lebron was complaining about a call. I'd also tell them that they like to cherry pick after that too though lol.

If Bosh said "They were able to stop me in games 1-3 but I welcome the challenge and we'll see if they can stop me for the rest of the series," you'd rag on him?

What are you talking about?

At least Terry had one good game and he's not even as good as Bosh.

And what about that time Chalmers said something during the Boston series? A lot of people on here were ripping him for days.

This Mavs team is a joke! And they're making a big a$$ of themselves, but yet people still want to make excuses for them and give them the benifit of the doubt. GTFO!

If players didn't talk trash in the heat of the battle for the NBA title, I would be disappointed. I expect trash talk. It is good for the game.

Apparently, THEY STILL MAD!
---

Arguably, the two most well-known executives in the league, Mark Cuban and Pat Riley, were caught jawing at each other during Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Cuban was complaining, what else is new, about the Heat traveling and Riley answered back "We're too quick, Mark. We're too quick."

According to sun-sentinel.com:
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban exited the court at halftime complaining to Pat Riley about Heat traveling in retreat against Mavericks pressure. “When Joel Anthony goes back 3 feet . . . ” Cuban said.

Replied Riley, “We’re too quick, Mark. We’re too quick.”

DeShawn Stevenson:
Stevenson was asked about giving hard fouls to the Heat like "90's basketball" and Stevenson explained that the Mavericks can't be too physical because of how the Heat react.

"We've got to take hard fouls. You touch them they make it so dramatic, you might get a Flagrant 2. Lot of guys are scared to take that hard foul or do things like that, because they're so magnified, with everything around them."

Stevenson described the Heat as "great actors," noting that they're supposed to try and sell those fouls.

After Monday's practice, Stevenson said Wade has a tendency to excessively complain to referees about foul calls. He went far as saying the Mavs need to use it to their advantage.

"Coach said it before the series we have a chance to push the ball like we like because [Wade] complains to the ref a lot," Stevenson said. "We've got to take advantage of that. They tend to do that and we've got to take full advantage of that … He does it all the time. He did it like seven times [Sunday]."

Jason Terry:
Ira Winderman from South Florida SunSentinel. on twitter:
Jason Terry, on being guarded by LeBron James: "Let's see if he can defend me like that for seven games?"

Ira Winderman from South Florida SunSentinel. on twitter:
Jason Terry, on Chris Bosh's Game 3 winning shot: "Juwan Howard could have made that shot."

Tim Reynolds from The Associated Press, on twitter:
More Jason Terry: He suggested LeBron can't guard him that well in the fourth quarter for four more games.

Ira Winderman from South Florida SunSentinel. on twitter:
Jason Terry said Portland "by far" has been the best defense Dallas has faced this postseason. He blamed turnovers for struggles vs. Heat.

Tim Reynolds from The Associated Press, on twitter:
Jason Terry on how the Mavs defended Bosh winner last night: "It was a blown coverage. ... Juwan Howard would have made that shot."

Heat respond to Mavs' trash talk

DALLAS -- It's been awhile since the Miami Heat had heard some public trash talk. So when some Dallas Mavericks gave them a variety of bulletin board material heading into Tuesday night's Game 4 of the NBA Finals it made an impression in the Heat locker room.

"We saw it," LeBron James said Tuesday. "We watch 'SportsCenter'."

"You have to let sleeping dogs lie sometimes," Chris Bosh said. "It's motivation. For us, it is an opportunity to not let up. Guys are talking and it fuels you."

After falling behind 2-1 in the series, Mavs guard DeShawn Stevenson said James and Dwyane Wade were "great actors" when trying to get fouls called. Jason Terry said that the Heat, who are holding the Mavs to 42 percent shooting and just 88 points per game so far, aren't the best defense Dallas has seen in the postseason.

But the nugget that seemed to most get under the Heat's skin was that James, who has played stretches of successful defense against Terry in the fourth quarters, would be wearing down.

"We're going to see if (LeBron) can do it for seven games," Terry said Monday. "That's going to be the challenge. Right now, it's Game 4. Can he do it again in Game 4? He wasn't able to do it in Game 2. He did it in Games 1 and 3, so Game 4 is another opportunity."

Heat players responded to that after their shootaround.

"If he wants LeBron to turn it up then that's great motivation for LeBron," Bosh said. "Guys remember that when we're out on the floor. LeBron is going to remember that late in the game when it is close and Terry is going to try to get going. LeBron is going to guard him and we'll see who comes out on top."

Terry hit a couple key shots in the fourth quarter of Game 2 as part of the Mavs' fourth-quarter rally. In Games 1 and 3, James helped hold Terry scoreless in the fourth quarters.

"LeBron is 26 years old, he's not going to wear down," Wade said. "Obviously, Jason Terry is a great scorer. In the fourth quarter, LeBron's job is to make it tough on him. When you see a guy who is 6-8 and just as fast and more athletic than a lot of guys it is tough. He's not going to wear down and he's going to look forward to the challenge."

James, who has avoided taking the bait from the media's questions during the series, took the high road again on Tuesday.

"Those guys have a right to say what they want to say," James said. "For me and D-Wade, we're going to let our game do the talking. Those guys have the right to say what they want to say."
