If the team once again has an abortion of an offense..........

if a team with Wade, James, and Bosh, that still goes through long scoring droughts frequently again.....

then yes, fire him.

Spo. wont be changing anything. He is who he is. He should have been replaced years ago.

I agree that if we don't win it all this season, he's probably done. But if it's another player-based collapse like last Finals, I'm not so sure. There's nothing wrong with the system Spo has implemented, and it is honestly a terrifying defense. I think if Bron and our role players contribute enough, we're champs and Spo is on his way to the HoF. I think we'll get it this season, and I don't mind having the Filipino Sensation as our head coach. PEACE.

P.S. I didn't feel quite this optimistic when we were 9-8. I was still willing to give him the full season, and I think he proved himself more than capable. Just look at how well he handled the media scrutiny. The guy is a young Riley.

You simply can't look at the team record and playoff performance when judging Spo. The Heat SHOULD beat 90% of teams based on sheer talent alone.

What Spo. needs to be judged by is how his team performs against the top tier elite teams. The Heat were simply outcoached in the Finals. Spo. runs the same 1-4 iso offense with kickouts that he has been running for years. His defense is the same no matter the situation. His rotations are the same no matter the situation. His offense is the same no matter the predicament.

That is my issue. Of course, having three of the best players in the NBA will masks these deficiencies 90% of the time until you get deep in the playoffs. I honestly believe the Heat beat the Mavs if Bosh got more touches as he was clearly playing the most efficient of the big three and has the best mid-range game and post game of the big three.

Do not LET. GO. OF. THE. ROPE.

Seriously though, I'm of the opinion that his system works spectacularly when properly executed. It's on Spo for getting his players to buy into the double post offense he's developed for us, but as to the effectiveness of the offense itself I don't doubt it. Once again, with the caveat that it is indeed properly executed.

His offense is terrible, it doesn't fit the players he has.

Don't have a post up center. Bosh is the best post player but is stuck as stretch 4. DWade and Lebron aren't 3 point shooters. Chalmers isn't a 3 point shooter nor a ballhandler. He starts Joel Anthony who can't catch or run a pick and roll and have no legitimate offense skills.

How the hell you gonna consistently run that offense. It doesn't fit the personnel. It also isn't a very dynamic flowing offense when it's ran. Heat would be better off using the whole court instead of stalling the offense that allows teams to actually pack the paint because our 2 perimeter players are not 40 percent 3 point shooters. And if he played the shooters, he don't have perimeter defense.

The offense when ran with the players that are capable of running it, is good though. :D

It's the last year of his contract. Win the title, get a new fat contract. Lose, and he won't be re-signed. It's that simple.

If Spoelstra doesn't win a championship he won't be fired; he'll be launched off of Canaveral. The Heat losing in the Finals last year was an abomination. It represents one of the biggest chokes, maybe of all-time, in any sport. When a coach wants to drill into his team's head that a choke job is forever, that it can never be alleviated, no matter how many championships you win thereafter, you can be sure the highlight reel will include footage from last year's debacle against the Mavs, and probably a healthy dose of Ranger-Cards in the World Series. Both were just disgusting to watch. If this team doesn't start their championship run this season, this whole experiment will go down as a disaster in my opinion. Get it done.
