Once Heat always Heat

Post#1 » by Heatallica » Sun Mar 11, 2012 2:55 pm

Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to the board and have posts under my belt from posting on the general board. I wanted to share a story with you I heard on the Lebatard show during the Allstar break.
During the recruiting process of LBJ and Bosh, one of the biggest sellers that Pat used was family. Spo with over 20 years with the Heat in some capacity, Zo speaking about family as a long time Heater, Keith Askins former player now coach. This was apparent again right at the break.
Bruce Bowen was in town covering the Heat vs Knicks game right before the break. He chatted with Pat Riley and was gonna that a commercial flight to Orlando for Allstar weekend. Riley said no he's not. He played for the Hear which makes him part of the Heat family. He would hop on the Heats private jet along with their Allstar participants to get to Orlando. I know it's pretty minor, but it's these kinds of gestures that really show that they practice what they preach when it comes to the Heat family.

The last part about Bowen is pretty cool. I'll tell you, former Heat players who I've had a chance to talk to on twitter have all said what we already know. What first class organization the Heat are. Jim Jackson told me in his one season in Miami, it was the best out of all his stops.

That is quite good to hear. With Pat Riley, this rganization is in safe control. Its good to know we still hold our ex-players in high regards.

But I hope NOBODY holds Mike f*kin Bibby in any regard whatsoever! :wavefinger:

Big turn around from the joke of an org it was under Billy Cunningham and Lewis Schaffel. The current Dolphins remind me of the old Heat.

I was about to offer a similar sentiment. So much better with competent leadership.
