It's pointless to even watch this team until the playoffs

Post#1 » by Swampdonkey » Wed Apr 11, 2012 1:25 am

Seriously. They coast on offense, don't give a ish on defense and have no desire to grind out these games. Chicago is ready to give us the top seed but we refuse to take it. The playoffs can't come soon enough.

I thought they played well tonight. Boston was just on a mission and hit all of those long twos from their role players. Any other night we would have won this game by ten. I thought our effort was good, some of our rotations were a little stupid, but for the most part if we play like this the next game we'll get the win and get some positive momentum going to the playoffs.

At this point Spo has to be worried that we're going to be in a slump going into the playoffs. We played our best ball in february. Now we're struggling to get back to it.

Chris Bosh kind of disappeared in yet another big game this year.

we played well?

we played WELL?

going down 19,
at home,
To the geriatric celtics,
who are missing half their roster to injuries,
after we were suposed to come "mad and motivated"
on a game that could have landed us the #1 seed,

we played well?
WTF do u think were trying to do here?

We need to stop going down by double digits and then never recovering. What is up with this? This is a new thing. We would be known as the team that went up huge digits, and at the end yeah we sometimes gave up the lead and lost.... well a lot. BUT we never went down so much. Only like a few times but not a lot of this.

This is a new issue. It's us not making shots and teams figuring out our defense.

Look, teams would have to beat us in 7 games man. That's hard. Boston played very well and they did everything right possible. We tried to play well but we didn't. It may look good offensively, but we struggled a lot.

Yeah apparently we were out for blood this game but Boston showed who was the better team RIGHT NOW. I might get some flack for that, but Boston has been beastly since the AS break AND WE HAVEN'T AT ALL.

But besides Boston I mean this is just a growing concern. And we have YET to over come it.

Seriously, none of this matters. This team wont be judged by anything they accomplish in the regular season and they know it. Start the ****ing playoffs already.

Yeah. Did you not watch the game? The celtics made over 60 percent of their long 2s and shot like 37 of them. Their true shooting percentage was 70 percent. There's no defense for the shots they were making. It wasn't like they were spanking us with second chance points. Getting a bunch of slop in the lane. Or even going crazy from 3. They literally made the toughest shot in basketball right now, over and over and over, contested or not. That's got nothing to do with us. Sorry. Sometimes teams just come in and shoot you out of the building. Happened last year against Indiana.

The thing I liked about this game compared to the Memphis game is that we battled the whole game and the only reason we lost in the end was because we just weren't as hot as they were. But on the whole I thought the team played with a lot more effort tonight, and didn't look as tired as they have in the past few months.

Plus it was good to see Mike Miller out there making plays. That small ball lineup Spo threw out there was interesting too. The one with Jones, Lebron, Battier, Miller, and Haslem. I'd like to figure out how to play that team more, and that Bosh-Wade second unit less.

DWade even said as much. He said this team will be ready for the playoffs. I think they're just sort of tired of these games, and really want to get to the playoffs. Unfortunately they've picked up some bad habits doing that. But hopefully whoever we play in the first round we can get things back in gear against.

Well the good news is you may only have to play Philadelphia and then Indiana in the second round. While the Bulls will have to play Boston in the second round. If Indiana can hang on to the 3rd seed that is, they have a pretty easy schedule remaining. Boston will probably make a good push for the 3rd seed though, they have an easy schedule too. Indiana is 2 games up on Boston.

That line up was horrible. Any lineup with UD at center is just asking for failure.

Any real Heat fan wouldn't give up on the team just because we are loosing or not caring. That's like saying we should have all stopped watching the year Wade went out and we won 15 games!

Im only mad about our effort in the 1st quarter. The Celtics were just on fire. That was their best offensive game of the season right there. So many contested jumpshots, and even Steisma, Bass, and Rondo were hitting everything. Nobody would have beat them tonight.

They are playing great lately, but i doubt they beat us in a 7-game series.

I wouldn't be shocked if Boston got the 3rd seed. It's like them and the Spurs that are playing the best ball right now. We beat them last year in 5 games, I think we can do it again, now that they are even less talented. Beating us in the regular season is one thing. Over 7 games is a lot more difficult because that means you have to beat Wade and Lebron 4 times, and that's really hard for both of those guys to be off for that much of a series.

The Celtics poor rebounding I think would probably be the thing to do them in in the playoffs.

A Celtics-Magic first round series would probably be really interesting to watch.

...i did stop watching that year lol. i wasn't wasting my time to see d-league scrubs and guys sitting out with phantom injuries cause we were tanking for the lottery. the OP kinda has a point. if the players aren't trying/caring why should the fans bother? heh, i'm watching for the highlights but i can say i'm not caring much about these games. i'm holding ultimate judgement until the playoffs.

The mav beat us in 7 games so anything can happen. We have a great chance against the Celts if we play team defense. Maybe 6 with a healthy Rondo.

Its not pointless in fact its key to watch and see if this team adjusts their very predictable defense. A lot of their jump shots were contested last night, but Boston still was able to hit them. But there were still PLENTY of wide open jump shots due to how predictable their defense is. Way too much trapping, way too many doubles 40 ft from the hoop, way to much just standing around and letting your man run passed you. They really need to figure that crap out, because teams know EXACTLY what Miami's defense is going to be (since they haven't changed it one bit since that a** spanking Dallas gave them) and instead of waiting till the finals, teams with good coaches (Boston, Bulls, OKC) have mastered it and turned it around on Miami. Thus teams REGULARLY shooting over 50% and the Celtics at 64% at one point in the game. Thats just embarrassing to give up that high of a percentage, and then come back and shoot 40% against their lock down defense.

Spo really needs to sit down with this defense and tweak it because its not working, and teams are having a field day.
