Role players showing up huge reason for success

Post#1 » by Aiolos » Thu May 31, 2012 11:18 pm

I'll be damn, they been helping the duo out big time. Without them NO WAY WE GET PAST THE PACERS. You saw what it takes when they are not helping out Wade and James have to ridiculous THE WHOLE TIME but we all know that is not going to happen EVERY GAME. Its just not realistic/practical, lets be real.

This something that to be honest I didnt expect and you cant blame me, they werent doing anything for the most part back then but now damn they been truly a big help.

With the supporting cast helping out plus a not too rusty Bosh and we have a solid shot at the Spurs or Thunder.

No role players showing up, no rings.

Nice highlight video btw for our supporting cast in a big game!

Sucks though the video is titled "other guys", these guys are monumental to our success.

It has been damn nice to get contributions from Rio, Battier, UD, Miller, etc. Even if it comes at the end of a rough shooting night collectively, a timely 3, cut to the basket, offensive rebound, whatever can carry a lot of weight when people are putting so much effort into stopping Dwyane and Lebron (and, hopefully soon, Chris). We'll need that if we can advance to the Finals.

Veteran role players who know the Heat needs them after watching Bosh go down
Stop being so disrespectful.

Very true. The "others" have been playing very well and filling their roles perfectly especially Rio. I expected nothing less from them because most of them are veterans who have started on teams before.

Makes me laugh when I think about greenhat and the rest of the bench haters when I see Miller popping 3's, Battier stuffing the opposition's attack, Haslem warrioring.....
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

Just want them to continue ONCE Bosh comes back, we will then have a complete team.

Its all about oppurtunity.

With Bosh out, the oppurtunity increases for the ENTIRE team.

Just real good to see them hit the open shots

They sucked for an entire season and they sucked last year too. And they are for the most part, inefficient as hell.
Miller should be gone next year I hope to God. He needs to get his ring and just retire he moving like he's 80

Don't act like we are the Spurs out there or even the 76ers, Lebron and Wade still need 30 plus and about 15 rebounds between them and about 11 assist between them just to win.

As long as they play well in the playoffs what do we care?

It took them a long ass time to finally contribute, but it's with Bosh out and because of that they get more touches.

But after Game 2 when they weren't helping Wade and LBJ, it's when it started to look doom and gloomy. But it seems they might have talked after that, because really, every game now if we have atleast 2 roleplayers contributing, we win.

last year this is definitely what we didn't see.

in the clutch, Haslem, Battier, along with Wade and LBJ. Battier's 3 to tie it when 2 minutes left, is EXACTLY what I envisioned him being brought on this team for. His defense sure, but being clutch and hitting that 3 when we need it. Haslem has been bad all season but has had flashes. LBJ and Wade went off sure in Game 4 against the Pacers, but Haslem also saved the Heat while LBJ/Wade were doubled.

Then damn man, in game 2 vs Boston, LeBron and Wade didn't make a FG in the 4th, it was all the role players. Haslem has been huge down the stretch. I don't get while Spo wasn't playing UD in the first place, like game 2 vs. the Pacers. He really has been bad so I can see why Spo didn't even rely on him, but he's back I would say.

Miller has been fine. It's just sad he is injured, what on earth did he do to get injured? though because he actually wants to stay on the team, he's playing despite injury. I appreciate it though. But it's probably because he doesn't want to get amnestied

we're still top heavy though, but we're better than last year RIGHT NOW (obviously, with Bosh). It's like our role players before would just play hot potato, especially with LBJ and not want to contribute. They are finally knowing hey, the team needs you guys too. I just hope this holds up for 6 more wins.

They are pretty much chucking in the playoffs...with Bosh not being there, they are hitting timely shots. Mike Miller should be gone next year. Shane should stay just to guard players so Lebron doesn't have 2.

They are doing well for the complete egg they laid in the regular season.

Still don't like the bench. It is still overpriced for it's output.

I can think of at least 27 other teams who would love to be in our position.

I totally agree. The heat are a team that will compete and give their all. Rio and the guys have filled their role. Joel has done everything on the defensive end and even has contributed some timely baskets and rebounds. I think 2 things have happened! 1. We are selectively trapping on pick and roll which reduces the need to scramble back and that allows athletically challenged guys like Miller to stay on the court and spread the floor! It also leaves us in position to rebound better and block shots which for us is better than a rebound! 2. The aggressiveness of Lebron and Wade forces doubles and leaves them more open than just a regular swing it around. 3. These are vets who understand there will not be another chance. They know there is pressure but each game it gets better! 4. I think Lebron and D Wade' relationship has taught the team to hang tough and not turn on each other! Awesome!
