LeBron James answers Serge Ibaka

Post#1 » by Heat fan06 » Tue Jun 19, 2012 5:42 pm

LeBron James and Serge Ibaka were both on the NBA's All-Defensive Team this year but they certainly aren't teammates.

Ibaka, the Oklahoma City Thunder's power forward, said Monday that James was "not a good defender" and that "he can play defense for two or three minutes but not 48 minutes." James responded to the comments before Tuesday's Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

I don't really care what he says, he's stupid. Everyone says something to me every series then (the media) tries to get a quote. It's stupid.

"I don't really care what he says, he's stupid," James said. "Everyone says something to me every series then (the media) tries to get a quote. It's stupid."

Ibaka made the comments to the Palm Beach Post.

This isn't about any game so why should it be in the game thread?

It just goes to show how biased the media is that they didn't respond to Ibaka's comment by asking him about his own shoddy defense. But nooo, they'd rather LeBron respond to a comment that clearly holds no merit on its own. Who is owning who this series?

overblown. Ibaka still gets a little lost in his words and has a difficult time precisely making his point with his English not being up to par. Lebron can't guard KD 1-on-1 really. I don't really think Ibaka's point was that Lebron is overall not a good defender, but rather he has a hard time guarding KD for an extended time, but their team defense is good.

I find it weird for LBJ to call him stupid too. Even if he did, THAT'S HILARIOUS!!!!

edit : I read another quote... he said "It's stupid" twice. The first "he's stupid" isn't legit.

But still funny.

Durant responded to both and said Ibaka was just standing up for him and he thinks Lebron is a good defender
Your emotions fuel the narratives that you create. You see what you want to see. You believe what you want to believe. You ascribe meaning when it is not there. You create significance when it is not present.

Think Ibaka just struggles to say what he means sometimes.
