James Jones to retire after this season?

Saw an article today on sun sentinel ... Really? He's only 31 after all. You think he will?

Doubt it. Only one I see retiring is Juwan and maybe Eddy Curry again.

Jones still has a lot of money to make and so does Miller. Regardless, I think we get Ray Allen in the offseason which cuts down their minutes even more, if any minutes at all.

Here's the article OP is talking about -

I can't see it happening. I haven't heard anything about him being injured and there are always roster spots open in the league for sharp shooters like JJ.

I don't see that. I think he's earned himself a vet min contract on a lot of rosters as the last big off the bench. He did a great job dropping weight. His lack of mobility on defense won't be as big a deal to other clubs IMO. PEACE.

According to that article, it seems like he wants to focus on family life.

Miller's back seems like a serious problem every time he moves on the court. If anybody on this Heat team should retire for physical/age-related reasons, it's Miller. He's a walking injury, which is sad, because I thought he was going to be phenomenal playing alongside the Big 3.

Miller should retire, not JJ.

JJ is back handed by this team. I feel bad for him sometimes. Many people would kill for a player like him. His defense has been good lately too. Atleast he shows heart and any time we do need a bucket, I can count on JJ.

Would suck to lose BOTH JJ and Mike in the summer.

If JJ retires it's because he wants to do something else with his life--which I could see. He seems like a smart dude, who probably has other interests.

If JJ and Mike both retired this summer, would we then have the full MLE?

I think after the lockout season a bunch of players probably are thinking retirement. I mean it was a crazy grind. Players like Jason Kidd, I don't see him signing with a team till February 2013, no joke. There's a bunch of other players too.

I don't blame them, even if the money is great some people value rest and family. Being on the road all your life takes a toll on you physically and mentally.

I lied. Keep Miller and just save him for the playoffs so he won't get hurt LMAO
