Be more disrespectful if PJ3 or Moultrie took his spot and Pittman got cut and kept Juwan Howard.

Why did the Heat trade its first-round rights? Perhaps to take money off the books. First-round contracts are guaranteed for two years. Second-round selections are not guaranteed and the Heat can sign a player to a one-year contract and cut him after training camp or at any time during the season. In other words, Hamilton’s tenure with the Heat might not be a long one.

The Heat is expected to replenish its roster this offseason with veteran players willing to take minimum contracts. The Heat is also projected to be over the salary cap next season.

Pretty much it was just to avoid paying someone.

I think Justin Hamilton will be an overseas stash.

What's better...the d league or playing overseas?
P.S. I saw that Varnado is about the same size as Kevin Durant, I can't see that being too much of an aid in the post

Varnado is another player that certain posters on here have romanticised.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

Anybody know about J'Covan Brown? He went undrafted and the Heat signed him.

What exactly does Perry do for OKC? They already have a great offense, but their problem is defense and he won't help them out in that department in any way

Three good players dont make an offense. We of all people should understand that. We beat them because they had to cover role players Shane who was hitting 3s etc. Replace one of there non scoring bigs with Perry and see how much easier it gets for them (if he pans out). Then again were dealing with cap tax issues so blah

He still brings nothing to the table defensively which is what they need most

(Note that's too important for a footnote: I thought the Cavs should have taken Thomas Robinson, but they obviously passed after spending last year's no. 4 overall pick on Tristan Thompson — same position as Robinson, not as good — so instead of stashing potential stud Jonas Valanciunas abroad in 2011 and picking Robinson this year, they spent two top-five picks on the poor man's Robinson and Syracuse's sixth man. The lesson, as always: God hates Cleveland.)

Love Bill Simmons take on Cleveland's post Lebron draft issues. My thoughts exactly. With the picks they've had they could've done much better IMO.

Sorry I already asked this question but can't find my post.
Do we get a first round pick from Philadelphia next year?
Is it loterry protected?
If it is then it's perfect cause I think Philly is making the playoffs next year, then we get 15-16h pick???

Lottery protected for the next 3 years, then it becomes a 2nd rounder or two if its not delivered during that span.

Gives a breakdown of Miami's pick placement. We will have a 1st rounder in the next two drafts.

Still wishing we hadn't traded Toronto's draft pick back to them. It was unprotected in 2014 I believe.

Is Norris Cole better than Scott Machado? Is there a way we can sign him?

I think he went undrafted.

That undrafted PG we signed from Texas, J'Covan Brown 6'2 202, is faster than Norris Cole.

3/4 Court Sprint

Cole: 3.22
Brown: 3.16

In fact, there were only 5 guys who were lighter in the combine that ran it faster.

I can't wait to watch him play in the summer league. His height might be a problem (listed as 6'2"...but he's definitely not) but he can flat out score. He has to do something VERY impressive to make it on the roster this coming season, but hopefully we can find a way to "stash" him away somehow :D
