OT - Short trip to Miami

Post#1 » by Canada_7 » Thu Sep 13, 2012 5:00 am

Hey all, I'm a Raptor fan here from Toronto and I come in peace...the reason I've made this thread is because tomorrow/later today, I'll be flying to Miami to stay for a few days. Not sure if this is the appropriate place to make the thread but whatever. Anyways I wanted to ask what are some cool things to do around Miami? I'm not into clubbing though, so I guess those aren't needed. I don't mind having a drink at a pub though. My flight is early tomorrow/today but I think I'll be able to have internet here and there (going with one friend, he's bringing his laptop). Thanks in advance. :)

You have to go to the beach while the water is still warm. And the beautiful women 8-)

Take a walk on South Beach/Ocean Drive and see the beautiful people. It's not that big and hopefully the weather is nice (though I'm partial to Bill Baggs Cape Florida state park on Key Biscayne when actually going to the beach/picnic).

Take a tram tour in the Everglades. See gators, birds, wilderness etc. Only about an hour drive west of Miami. Can probably spend a half day there (http://www.sharkvalleytramtours.com/)

Take a boat tour of Miami. Pretty sure they have these at Bayside (right across the street from the arena in downtown Miami).

Sometimes I tell people to take a drive down to the Florida Keys, depends on how long you are staying here as that can easily take a day if stopping along the way.

Visist the Heat store in American Airlines Arena and buy alot of jerseys, then bring them back to Toronto and give them out.

Like Heat3 said, I'd definitely visit the Everglades, when I have people visiting South Florida for the first time, the Everglades are definitely one of the top places I take them to. Beautiful, unique place and especially a great destination if you're not into clubbing/nightlife. Haven't been down there in a few years, but I doubt much has changed.

Hey guys, sorry to maybe hijack the thread, but didnt feel necassary to start a new one.

Im flying from Australia to be in Miami from the 4-7th of December, specifically to see the Heat VS Knicks game on the 6th, and was wondering when is the best time to purchase tickets? Now, in a month, the night before the game? Im looking for half decent seats, maybe in the 150-200 dollar range, hopefully with a decent view, or is this a rediculous thought? Not sure how expensive/ how the seating is..... Thanks for any answers guys, appreciate it!
