Win Record

Post#1 » by ndnow » Fri Oct 19, 2012 8:31 pm

If this team has any chance of beating chicago's single season win record it's this year. The team has now had it's core together for two years, and has a title. They have added good pieces and are in relatively good shape age wise.

If they have any chance of this record I believe it's this year.

Don't really care about any regular season records, they mean nothing if there no ring to go along with it.

Who cares about their record? They will most likely finish with the best in the east, mainly due to the fact that the east is so weak and the Heat are so stacked. But it really doesnt matter, the Heat know that winning records dont mean anything if you dont have a ring to go along with it.

Way too much parity in the league now, and this team literally laughs at the thought of going for the record, which they'd have to do to get it. It went happen just by mere happenstance. I'll be happy with a top-2 seed and another championship. I could give a **** about that record, and no player on the team does either. The only important record is 16 and whatever.

I just don't want HCA in the Finals. I'm a big fan of the 2-3-2 format for the road team.

I gotta agree with this philosophy.

Without HCA if you can at least spit 1-1 in those first 2 games you put a LOT of pressure on the opposing team with those 3 games in a row. Winning the chip last season would have been much harder if we didn't have the 2-3-2 format going for us. The Thunder are always scary good at home. We barely won Game 2.

It's also very difficult to win 3 straight at home or if necessary, win a Game 6 or 7 on the road. I could see the benefits to either approach, I definitely want HCA throughout the East though.

We're 2-0 without HCA and 0-1 with it. I also somewhat prefer having the middle 3 games in a row, though Chalm brought up a good point in it putting pressure on the team without HCA to win the middle 3. Its basically a toss-up. If we didn't choke in Game 2 in 2011, maybe Dwyane is a 3x champ.

I can see with around 65 wins and HCA.

This Heat team plays well on the road, the format won't matter as much.

I feel like it will be inevitable that we'd get HCA. Now it depends on the off-nights we have, if we start to struggle, another team is having a better regular season, etc. Last 2 years we were head to head with Chicago. Chicago I doubt would get 1st seed this year. That opens it up. Boston could very well get it if we slack.

It's kind of strange. Last year we had struggles on the road and in general. The year before we were on of the best road teams. In the end, it doesn't matter. But we have more vets, more experience. I don't think the road matters. But the Heat would love to play at home.

But that 2-3-2 format man. Our team loves that. The last 2 titles have shown why. This team seems like they would want to take 1/2, then 3 straight.

Who knows, we might see some tanking on purpose lol. Spo might take some people out to rest, especially Wade.

With all due respect, this is a bunch of malarkey. If you have HCA all you have to do is protect home court and win one game on the road. I'm not into arguing about the past because what's done is done, but this team should be going for their 3rd consecutive title. If they didn't choke that game 2 against Dallas they may very well have won that series in 5. They lost 2 games on their home court and thats why we lost the series

But on the flip side if you lose one of the first 2 games with HCA you're looking at THREE GAMES IN A ROW on the road. Against a good team that's a tough mountain to climb... Just ask the Thunder.

We've shown we can go into hostile environments and beat great teams. The Thunder were just outmatched. I'm not worried about either format, but I'm coming around to RR's view. There's no reason we should prefer 3 home games over 4, no matter the order.
