Lakers have at least one of the problems we did in 2010, and that is a dreadful bench. What this means is they are gonna drop some disappointing games this season, and look like a bust of a roster, at times. However, I think their starting lineup is still pretty good, and with OKC losing Harden, I now have them favored to win the West.

I think that in the playoffs, rotations tighten, which will help marginalize their lackluster bench. It's what happened to us in 2010. The starters can do a lot of heavy-lifting, if they're healthy, and carry them through the playoffs. However, I don't know if they'll be anywhere near as dominant a lineup, as was originally suggested. I don't know if they are gonna overwhelm anyone. PEACE.

I agree with the statement about rotations tightening during the playoffs, that plays in the Lakers favor. The only problem is their 2 best bench players are Jordan Hill and Jamison, both play PF-C. How much are either of them going to play during the playoffs if you want Howard - Gasol playing 40 minutes a night? The reserve perimeter players are awful, it has to be just as painful watching them as we had to do watching Arroyo, House, Bibby that first year.

I don't even hate the Lakers, I just hate Dwight Howard.

I don't like Howard either but I respect the hell outta the Lakers franchise.

Tonight's game showed how a epic a Heat/Lakers Finals match up could really be.

At this point I don't think we'll ever get a Kobe/LeBron Finals match up. :(

I don't think the lakers are making the playoffs this year. Even tonight they turn the ball over make huge defensive errors anddont have an identity.

Sure they played us tough but so did the wizards.

I disagree, I think they have shown the last few games even in the Heat game to ability to play well. I think Houston and Portland are only 3 games up on them. No way those teams hold up over the next 40 some odd games over the Lakers.

I think its 4 games behind Houston for the 8th seed. I didn't see anything new about the lakers last night. Heat are a .500 road team. Hardly impressive losing to a team the jazz murdered a week ago. And their two wins before that were against scrappy teams.

I mean if the heat had been able to make any jumpers close to their season rate it would have been a blowout with how the lakers were turning the ball over. The heat got any look they wanted offensively. The lakers don't make second efforts on defense.

And Dwight still isn't Dwight. Cant explode like he used to and his ft shooting is hysterical at this point.

can't believe i haven't seen this thread until now...

but omg my nba dream would be for the lakers to play the heat in a nba finals. i would love to see dwyane wade battle kobe bryant in a 7 game series, lebron james to dominate every single lakers defender that they assign on him, chris bosh matched up with pau gasol & i may get laughed at this but i actually like playing joel anthony on dwight howard, he actually has more sucess guarding dwight then bosh does. nothing would be better then seeing ray allen scorch them again...

i respect the lakers franchise and don't have a problem with any of their players except dwight howard. i can't stand majority of their fans because of the arrogant comments they've been saying over the years.

and is it just me or is kobe bryant riding kevin durant's sack a lot recently? he said the only person that can beat him 1-on-1 is kd but he says he can easily beat lebron 1-on-1, i don't see how anyone can stop lebron 1-on-1, especially a player that is kobe bryant's size...

From what I've seen from LA lately it looks like they are turning the corner. Had they played anyone not the Heat, OKC or the Clippers the other night they would probably be on a win streak. Just looking at the standings they are 3 games behind an overachieving Houston team thats falling off and Portland is going to drop off unless they address their bench issues. I could see LA easily being the 7th seed at seasons end. Not sure if they have what it takes to beat OKC or LAC at this point though.

And then they go on and lose to the Raptors.

With the coach changes, serious injuries to nash, dwight and howard..... if lakers made the finals it would probably be the greatest comeback in sports.

And as it stands right now it's the greatest fantasy. Hope Laker fans enjoyed their 1 year rental of dwight and howard
