Clippers would give the Heat more fits.

I don't know what you guys are talking about.

Teams that have the best shot at beating the Heat are teams with dominant front-courts specifically at rebounding. Clippers are a great front-court team primarily due to Griffin and Jordan then they also have tremendous shooters everywhere in Paul, Crawford, Billups, Butler, etc.

Clippers would probably be the favorite over the Heat if they had SVG or someone who is actually good as their coach. They matchup well, but luckily they have a dimwit as a coach in Vinny Del Negro.

Thunder do not matchup well with OKC at all especially if Miami goes small ball with Battier-Lebron at the Forwards. If Spoesltra played the conventional, Lebron-Bosh-Anthony/Haslem front-court, I honestly think OKC would have won last year.

Bosh's injury was a blessing in disguise as it let Bosh play Center and Shane Battier start in the Finals at SF.

^ My thoughts exactly TheChosen618 --- The Clippers would give Heat fits specially with a really good front-court, they'd out rebound us like nuts.

Outcome -- I still see Heat winning but why not win easier with OKC

OKC is generally the easier matchup - Bosh gets Ibaka out the paint, same with Perk. Not sure how well that works with Clippers bigs. Its also tougher for us to play against cerebral point guards like Chris Paul. Either way I say we win.

All home teams won in the playoffs so far...

I do agree with the Clippers being a big threat. I don't see them getting past OKC in the second round but if they do then they're going to the NBA Finals imo...

I'm still thinking about what Barkley said about this being the weakest first round in NBA history. I do think some of the first round matchups that I was looking forward to have been disappointing like the Nets/Bulls series, Clippers/Grizzlies & Lakers/Spurs. Now that David Lee went down I don't see GSW really making this series against Denver competitive. Especially with Faried coming back in game 2...

Game 2 of the Celtics/Knicks series will most likely determine the winner of that series. It sucks for Boston because Game 1 had upset all over it for them but too many turnovers and help from their bench ended up beating them. I wouldn't be surprised to see NY go crazy and light it up from downtown in Game 2 sadly...

I think OKC is still a tougher matchup. Its their fault they abandoned the paint last year. Clips are a joke. Memphis should have won the first game and hung aorund even though they were off the whole game. The calls the Clips were getting were horrible. I like Chris Paul because he can shoot and setup teammates but Conley got robbed on the foul calls against him. It was disappointing to see CP3 get away with pushing off every single time Conley was guarding him. I dont see him getting all those calls against us or us letting Blake get away with his floppery and irritating shenanigans.

OKC will clip them if they happen to get past Memphis.

Really though this would be a more interesting series. Dido for about 3 other ones as well.

As far as Finals go, should we make it, I still see Spurs as the favorites. Barring injury, they have the most complete roster/game in the West. Also happens to be the only team I would be slight worried about facing, maybe OKC as well.

 I hope by some miracle the Knicks actually reach the ECF's this year. They need a reality check talking all that garbage that they have the strategy on how to beat us. Regular season champs FTW.

Stan Van Gundy. Spoelstra was a rebounding coach during Wade's rookie year. lol

Stan gave him the opportunities, but as an assistant, Spo worked a lot with Wade, specifically on his jump shot.

Depends on what you mean by struggle.

I actually think the Nets could be more challenging to the Heat than the Knicks. This is mainly because of Evans and Lopez. Lopez has arguably been the best Center in the league this season. Everyone knows Evans is a monster on the boards. They could provide trouble and a pain for the Heat's front-court. Lopez isn't Hibbert, he isn't some softie that will get dominated by Joel Anthony.

The issue with the Nets though is that they don't have much defense.

Like I said, I've never understood what advantages the Knicks fans think they have over the Heat. The reason why the Knicks provide this mismatch on most teams is because they have Melo at the 4. The problem is the Heat can easily match with that by putting Lebron at the 4 and locking down Melo. They don't have any advantages at all honestly. The Knicks will have to beat the Heat at their own game and that's not something you want to do if you are the Knicks since the Heat are the best in the business at it.

So you would say that Spo helped him developed his game more?

Not just on his jumpshot, on finishing with contact too. They used to do individual workouts where Wade would shoot jumpers or layups while Spo would hit him mid air with big cushion tackling dummy things. He was the guy who worked extensively with Wade 1-on-1

Stan did a pretty good job developing Wade in terms of what role he gave Wade on the team and controlling tempo, shot selection, etc.
