I couldnt beleive spoelstra played him at the end of the season(and at the time stated that he should not olay another game till the playoffs). Very disappointed with the coaching on this one. It could cost us dearly.
Oh, and to those saying he needs kobe treatment, those are two seperate pathologies. A bone bruise will fully heal with time.
Well...Wade has had around 21 days of rest starting from the end of the season and the time off between the Milwaukee Bucks. Not to mention how well his minutes were managed throughout the entire season and even now. The coaching staff did the best you could ask. At the end of the day, Wades a basketball player. He has to play games and bumps and bruises will always be a threat no matter how much you sit out. I'm not sure there's anything else they could have done. Wade is just an injury prone dude but the good news is, Wade never really looks great against The Bulls these days and the series is almost over. Maybe next round he'll get his confidence going and his game should pick up too. The mind is a powerful thing.
From what I read regarding bone bruises, they take several months to fully heal, so 21 days isn't really enough. Knee injuries in a sport where you put a lot of your weight and bang knees a lot are that much harder to contain anyways. Look at what happened to Rafa Nadal, he's one of the best athletes in the world, but hit his knee on a chair with an unfortunate motion and had issues up until recently and had to take several months off to be able to return to form.
The injury itself was unfortunate, but it was clear from the moment it happened that he would need plenty off time off. None of us knew of the injury and then when something was leaked of the severity. The coaching staff knew and probably should've sat him longer. I didn't know how bad it was until full information was leaked and I was able to do some research.
With that being said, a summer dedicated to strengthening his knees and receiving therapy could help him tons going forward, just look at Kobe Bryant.
