Is Lebron and Wade getting too big??

Post#1 » by twix2500 » Tue Jun 11, 2013 3:21 am

I have noticed for the past couple of years how big Lebron and Wade have gotten. Are they putting on too much muscle mass in order for them to play to their strengths? Lebron is now becoming more of a power forward physically and less of a small forward. Not only Lebron but Wade size as well is changing him and maybe for the worse. I have notice that their speed is still there but their quickness might be diminishing. Lebron may evolved into something totally different more of a power player and less of a finesse player, I don't know if it hurt him in the long run, but it will change him.

But Wade is the one I am more wary of with the increase weight. Wade main attribute has always been his quickness. Yes I know his knees are bothering him, but A LOT could be cause by his increase muscle mass. Wade getting bigger I do not think his increase muscle mass is of an advantage in the type of game he plays. I think he is losing too much quickness. Wade may need to refocus his work outs and target getting slimmer and lighter. More focus on long muscle instead of compact muscle. It will better serve him and prolong his career.

I've been wondering the same thing for awhile. LeBron has consciously changed his game a lot due to the way he has changed his body. He used to be much more of a pure slasher until he started putting on a lot of muscle. People say he's lost athleticism but I don't really buy it, he's just as quick in the open court, his explosiveness just isn't what it was because of all the added mass. I think I'd prefer to see him get even smaller but I doubt that happens.

Wade is too big at this point. His knees would be much better off with less weight being put on hem. Wade put on all the muscle in the first place to help him to take contact during drives without getting injured. Well, he's still getting injured. It's natural as a player ages to drop weight to try to offset their declining athleticism and I think it's time for Wade to do just that. He'd be able to slip between smaller creases in the D and he'd be much quicker too. I don't think his post game would suffer too much with less muscle.

I remember like 2 years ago Wade started the season slimmed down and was playing great. He can def lose the weight and gain quickness in the process.

I think the purpose of Wade getting big was to prevent injuries, but obviously that isn't working because he is still constantly getting injured and getting injured at bad times (the playoffs for 2 straight seasons).

He should slim down again, but maybe his injuries will get worse if he does, who knows?

I actually think Lebron has slimed down compared to what he was in his first season here in 2011. He looked abnormally large in 2011 and wasn't as athletic as before, obviously he was still super athletic, but noticeable less athletic compared to the previous season in 2010.

I wouldn't worry about Lebron too much.

I know Wade's skinny days are long gone but he needs to get back to his 08 weight at least.

Wade yes ... Lebron no. Wade's increased mass is obviously not helping his knee issue. He needs to quit worrying about the bumps and bruises from getting knocked down when he drives, and start worrying about the stress the additional weight is putting on his knees.

You guys keep talking about Wade's knee issue like its related to the one last year and it's getting worse. His knee issue this year is a bone bruise which takes time to heal, it's not something that gets worse.

That said, I'd still want him to lose weight. There's no reason for him to be at 230, 220-225 was perfect for him, still stronger than most guards at that weight and a lot more quick and explosive.

Is Lebron gaining weight? Is Lebron losing weight? Is Wade gaining muscle? Has Lebron lost a step? Has Wade lost a step? Has Lebron lost his athleticism? Is there gold in the village? Is there silver? Where's Beric Dondarrion ?

LeBron James Steroids? Miami Heat Star Implicated In PED Scandal By Former Anthony Bosch Employee

A woman, claiming to be a former employee of embattled, alleged Major League Baseball steroids provider Anthony Bosch, is now asserting that a close associate to NBA MVP LeBron James regularly frequented the clinic and each time took products with him designated for someone bearing the initials “LB.”

According to IBN Sports Wrap, someone she further identified as “Mr.Paul (LeBron’s childhood friend and one of his current agents is is named Rich Paul) would make monthly visits and carry off the agreed upon products. She further claims she knows Paul was a friend of James and workers at the clinic were 100 percent certain LeBron James was a client of the institute and the “LJ” in question.

Questionable because the first set of initials are "LB" then the second set pertain to "LJ"

first and foremost im a bulls fans but nba fan. and I still think this is going to seven games but LeBron and wade having extra weight isn't stopping them from prevailing against the spurs or losing finess I think. just bosh used to score 20 or more for them when wade is off and that's whats been saving mia a lot over the last two years. but hes not contributing anymore for whatever reason and that's the difference in the heat this year mainly. bosh has lessened his role as a scorer. he to focused on threes. where is his post game and aggressiveness around the rim. boozer and him seem to have a lot in common. they come and go as they please. but whether the heat win or lose this finals they have there work cut out for them going into next season if they stay the same or just make minor moves.

will ray allen stay or go. and I think he should leave because mike miller has proved he is the better fit at this time and date. but as for wade in the getting to big thing he should loose a lot of weight to help him out and I see that doing him wonders but LeBron is fine as of now. he don't look all the big to me. but anyway get ready for chi next season we coming. but good luck in the finals even tho im cheering for the spurs.
