Have you seen the Pops hate-thread on the GB ?

Post#1 » by truthiness » Fri Jun 21, 2013 4:38 am

It's hilarious.

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1256704

After g6 there was so much hate for Pops for leaving Duncan on the bench ... most likely from the same people who'd have criticised him endlessly if he put Duncan in and the Heat got an open 3 pointer because Duncan wouldn't be able to defend the 3p line.

Funniest part is that most of those posting are not Spurs fans. They are Bulls and Knicks fans, and some Lakers and other teams' fans. I guess most Spurs fans know better than to **** on Pops, even if it was a mistake - which I doubt. Without Pops, the past 4 titles, 5 finals and 15 years of contending are not happening.

Now there are a bunch of threads bashing Manu. And Pops for rolling with Manu, and wondering why. Because Manu helped them win 3 previous titles, helped them get here again, and Pops is a loyal guy.

And there's (of course) a thread about the refs:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1256957&start=30

I might be biased (though I don't think so), but it seemed to me that the Heat couldn't get a call.

Well, I guess haters will have a(nother) **** summer/year.

PS: Mods, I would appreciate if you would leave this open.

Prisoners of the moment. Disrespectful either way.

If we had Pop, Wade/LBJ/Bosh would've been rested and healthy. Going for 33 wins almost cost us the playoffs with Wade/Bosh/LBJ being tired/injured.

33 in a row is fool's gold.

I would hate the superman too if he failed to save the world from the evil empire while I'm sitting on my couch and eating expired potato chips

They will now say the Spurs are a horrible team and they never had a chance against the heat

BUT REMEMBER how they said the Heat were lucky to not face them last season

Haters do this
Stop being so disrespectful.

Lmao.
The thunder were going to kill us, they got downed in five. "You got lucky to face an inexperienced team,Spurs would've won". Year later, a better spurs team, and the heat win in 7(granted, it was as even as can be). There's nothing left to say. The Heat are the best team in the league, and they proved it again.

I disagree. We had plenty of time to rest after that. Spo was right to go for the streak.
Your emotions fuel the narratives that you create. You see what you want to see. You believe what you want to believe. You ascribe meaning when it is not there. You create significance when it is not present.

Yeah...Pop is a great coach. His game plan damn near worked. This was a Game 7...just about ended it in 6 if not for Ray's amazing shot.

The only questionable thing was giving Ginoboli the minutes he did...

After every loss this postseason, I was just thinking about how the winning streak was last thing on anyone's mind when we were getting blown out by Indy/SAS and Wade was playing below average.

Spo was wrong because it could've cost us a championship, but I won't argue it any further because I understand that there are people who like regular season accomplishments as much as they do winning the championship. I'm just glad we won, go HEAT!
