Official REST in Peace 2011 LeBron Talk

Post#1 » by Sonny Carson » Fri Jun 21, 2013 4:37 am

I'm just going give my perspective. LeBron blew it in 2011. Just call it what is it....if we had the LeBron the last two years we are celebrating 3 in a row right now.....or are we?

What if I told you...that the loss in 2011.....is what allowed for Game 6 LeBon in 2012. That gave him the hunger to destroy OKC. That gave him the hunger while GASSED and played 180+ games over the last 18 months....to close out a game 7 against the all time great San Antonio Spurs.

I held off of saying LeBron "was over the 2011 talk" because to me...he redeemed himself in 2012. Now he's certified.

No more mentioning that when LeBron has a bad game. No more mentioning that when he doesnt attack. No more mentioning that when he doesnt take over LIKE YOU want. He's official. He's a made man.

It took 2011 for LeBron to deliver us these last two championships. I'll be honest... I dont think if we won in 2011...that he would have had "Game 6" against Boston. He wouldnt have worked on his post game. I'm not sure he delivers today in the clutch.

Its like LeBron said "Your failures are how you learn to succeed."

And yea it would have been cool to win 3 in a row (Still can next year...)

But as Meatloaf once said..

"Dont be sad.....cause two outta three....aint bad." 8-)

And 1s to both posts, when all is said and done, the 2011 choke will benefit his legacy in more ways than it can diminish; this game was the quintessential display of that new mentality- When Wade passed him the ball to deliver the dagger, you can see that he was going to shoot the ball regardless of how tightly guarded he was

It was like a passing of the torch imo...

Wade has been a BIG HELP and a BIG BROTHER to LeBron.

THIS IS WHY HE CAME TO MIAMI! 8-)

2011 talk was always overblown. Those were the same people calling Danny Green Finals MVP...BUT of course a loss that year was a blessing in disguise. Most would fold under those circumstances...but LeBron? Lets see...

Back2Back MVP Back2Back Finals MVP Back2Back Champion.

@nbastats: LeBron joins Jordan & Russell as only players to win back-2-back regular season MVP awards & @NBA titles, per ELIAS

LBJ in last 5 games facing elimination for the Miami Heat 37p-12r, 32p-10r, 32p-8r, 31p-12r & 45p-15r! That's an average of
35.4ppg-11.4rpg!

Anyone who says LeBron is unclutch is proving further for being a troll. He has been one of the best clutch players for YEARS now.

I disagree completely that the loss in 2011 fueled the wins these last two years.

In fact I think it helped keep this series close. The failure of 2011 caused Lebron to be more tentative when his jumper wasn't falling early in this series. If he was going for the threepeat now he wouldn't have been so timid early in the series because he would have more confidence.

If you're going to take what Lebron said out of context you should also include how he was going on about how he did enough losing in Cleveland and he didn't need more to learn things.

If you don't think Lebron was "hungry" in 2011 or 2010 or even 2009, I don't know what to tell you. He didn't need to lose in 2011 to play better in the next two years. That's preposterous.

Additionally going by your "logic" he should have been less "hungry" this season, especially during the regular season. Except he played at an all time great level this year instead.

LeBron...for 8 years in the league....had no post game. That series...made him go get one.

Also...It was DWADE who was the best player on the floor and LeBron was deferring all series.

Again, just my opinion. I feel like if the Heat would have won......it would have enabled Lebron to be "ok" with scoring 18 and it being ok. Cause...we won a championship that way.

Him being called out (fairly or unfairly) for the that finals brought out the dog in him. I'm sure he was hungry, I'm sure he worked out..

but he developed a "Not over my dead body" mentality because he HAD TO. Listen to all the talking heads about LeBron if came up small again. That pressure forced LeBron to be his best.

Again...just my opinion.

In retrospect I prefer what Lebron was forced to turn himself into after that loss. If LBJ didn't get pushed to the brink of despair and come back a transformed man with a different approach to the game he wouldn't have been able to pick up the slack for Wade in the 2012 ECF and dominate the Finals. It's gonna be like Magic's Tragic Johnson finals in retrospect.
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

only he didn't lose in 2009 because he had no post game

he lost because everyone on the orlando magic shot like danny green

but yea RIP that dumb ****. hopefully lebron winning allows us to just enjoy basketball and cease with all the armchair clinical psychologists

The way he continues to improve his game year after year is insane, not only does he improve his game he adds a new facet to it every year. No more crazy fading left 3s, but controlled accurate 3s that are now falling. The post game, defense, 3's. Whats next? FTs? Something else? I have been saying this since last year I believe when its set and done we would have witnessed the best player to lace them up.

Return to Miami Heat
