Re: Oden in Miami pics inside
I think this season has shown that Bosh at C is not a longterm strategy. It does wonders for our spacing, but we get murdered on the inside. Whether we'll have to hang tight for another season is hard to know, but certainly I think they would change this situation if it was in their power.

As for the poster who asked about Oden's contract, he is a FA. His rookie contract expired last season after he was cut by the Trail Blazers.
LeBron mostly won us two championships. Wade played injured all playoffs this year and was largely non-existent except in the big games.
All LBJ needs is some help and he will win rings. LBJ + Wade + role players is enough in my eyes.

That would solve all of our problems... we would all be thankful for this, but i am really skeptical he will ever play in the nba again.

Riley knows he needs to find another big and he needs to find cheap labor that he can develop, which is why he tried Eddy Curry and let Varnando stay on the roster. Oden would provide the type of project that Riley loves; Big, Skilled with plenty of question marks.

LeBron didn't win those championships alone. Don't get it twisted. He was a big part of it, as his super star status says it should be, but he had a great team around him.
I can show you two NBA championships that makes it a FACT that we can win with this core. Tweak the end of our bench a player or two (Oden? Dalembert?), but the core of the team should remain.
It is only SPECULATION to believe that LeBron + Wade + role players will net us a championship.
A bird in hand is worth two in the bush - no pun intended Birdman...

Honestly if Wade was healthy these playoffs, or even 80% neither ECF nor Finals would of gone 7. Bosh was a bit off, I think if revise our strategy a bit, we can do fine with the same roster.
But you can't justify huge changes after a back to back. Even with the struggles, we had a 30% Wade most of the time and Bosh was just not on his game (honestly think his confidence was too low).

I think this is true but i also think if the games were called fairly on both sides Hibbert doesnt become MVP like and the Pacers series ends quicker.

Re: Oden in Miami pics inside
I didn't care for this guy, but if it's for the min, fine. Though the min is even 1mil, that's a bit much.
Might as well just get some rookie, save a few hundred thousand.
I wouldn't put my hopes up either if he did join, it would end up like how Rashard is on this team. Minimal playing time, other players who are ahead of him. Birdman is ahead of Oden, as well as Haslem/Bosh, whoever plays C.
Oden is probably rusty as hell too. He will be a project just like Curry and Pittman.

Very true, think that's part of the reason Wade played passive, there was no reward for driving in with heavy contact. And since he isn't the best spot up shooter, left him in a crappy situation.
He does need to do some serious work on his jumper this year though, at least get a solid pull up from mid range.

Riley said today, that if we had lost, he would have made big changes.
Personally, I still think we need big changes no matter what.
The Spurs had a 98.6% chance of winning Game 6. 122 teams had been in that position before, and every single one of them lost. 0-122. Now it's 1-123 I guess.
We got taken to 7 by Indy and Spurs. We could not win back to back games for ECF/Finals until the end... and we going to go back into the year like this?
Just sucks man. I don't think we can 3peat with Bosh at C.......and Birdman is 35....
That's NOT what he said. He said if we had lost that he would have "approached the FA market differently." That's a lot different from how you put it.

A healthy wade and the pacers and spurs aren't seeing us Imo.
I think getting a healthy wade in the playoffs is the bigger deal.

Maybe he should stop pulling himself up on the rim after every dunk, adding unneeded extra stress onto his knees on every landing can't help.

Getting healthy wont be a problem, staying healthy will. D Wade is injury prone and Oden's knees are shot.
Oden would be a nice experiment but not something you can bank on for another title run.
