Eric Griffin Signs With Heat

Post#1 » by lbjmiami » Wed Aug 14, 2013 12:46 pm

Eric Griffin has signed with the Miami Heat on a training camp deal.

Griffin averaged 6.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in 21.1 minutes for the Heat in the Summer League.

Griffin is a 6-8 forward out of Campbell that went undrafted in 2012..

Any info on this guy?

I joined this forum in 2010 when Lebron joined MIA. I don't know why my join date has changed, but I needed to get this off my chest. Thank you.

Keep in mind with Griffin that Heat are looking to stock Sioux Falls D-League affiliate, with final Heat camp cuts eligible for Skyforce.

Wouldn't mind seeing him make the 15th man spot. Got to see him go against a very similar Jeremy Evans, and I liked Griffin better.

We really seem to want young athletic wings.

Wow that was a sick dunk! Almoast jumping from the Ft line making contact with the defender in air and then to dunk it :o
Does anyone know how his defense is? would be good if he could become a solid wing defender for the Heat.

Against the pick n roll he waits for the ballhandler to come around as he goes under to try to slap the ball away but when it comes to defending stronger players, he did get pushed around but he will foul instead of giving up the shot. He has an edge to him, gets off the ground quickly, cameras flash when he goes up & rebounds the ball well. Dunking a rebound isn't easy & I wonder if he was the fastest player (speed/reaction time) on the squad.

Saw WT and was like WHO? That dunk is pretty insane but he won't see any minutes unless the Heat decide to steamroll teams which is unlikely in the regular season.

We were exposed quite a bit in the playoffs defensively against these players. Wade couldn't keep up with his knee and it made those scrubs on indy and sa look like superstars.

I'm more optmistic than most cause I have a.feeling he's going to fit in perfectly.

He will eat into Allen's minutes cause Allen gets exploited defensively when he's on the floor. He will be active off the bench and it will take some time for teams to adjust to his speed & hops. He appears to be a dunk specialist & will be used in alley oops & in transition.

Coach Askins will love to work with him.

Yeah....if he's cutting Ray Allen's minutes or in the rotation during the playoffs good for him, but it seems like a good signing for a 12-15th man.

Griffin is a guy who's thrilled to get a camp invite and we're discussing playoff minutes for him? Easy.
