There's no question that the CBA was contructed with the Miami Heat in mind. Stern and Adam Silver pretty much admitted that to be the case. There's a reason why Micky was like the only owner to vote against it.

But if would could get the Big Three in for sub 55MM in commited salaries next summer, then we all need toSoak the Desks of Riley and Elisburg.

It looks like the magic number would be 53, that's what we'll need them to take in order to use the full MLE and add at least 1 good rotation player. I'ts going to be easier getting that player with the Full MLE (5.15 Mil$) rather then the MiniMLE (3.18 Mil$). Plus you give an extra year (4 years insted of 3) on the FullMLE. Okafur looks like the best candidate ATM.

Lebron + Wade + Bosh = 53 (each giving up around 2 Mil$ on the first year of new contract from the maximum they're allowed to make, seems reasonable)
Haslem = 3 (strech contract to 2 years)
Cole = 2
draft pick = 1
Birdman = 1.5
Ennis = 0.5 minimum
J.Hamilton = 0.5 Minmum
Griffin = 0.5 minimum
Beasley - 1.3 minimum
Rio - 4 (using bird rights)

in total = 67.5 Mil
+
Full MLE - 5.15 (Okafur?)
+
Allen 1.4 Minumum + Battier 1.4 minimum

= 75 Mil in total salary, just under the luxury tax threshold = which makes us eligible for the Full MLE.

If that were the case then there would have been some kind of hard cap.

The CBA does nothing to make us break up the team. We have the Bird right on all of those guys and can keep everyone while giving everyone a raise.

It does make keeping the team more costly but it does nothing to break up the team.
Your emotions fuel the narratives that you create. You see what you want to see. You believe what you want to believe. You ascribe meaning when it is not there. You create significance when it is not present.

Well we dont have Oden's and Beasley's. But everyone else - yup. The issue is age, we'll need to replace Allen and Battier and later even Bird with young guys sooner or later (not much later), you cant run of fumes forever, those guys are up there in years. That's where Okafor, Ennis and draft picks come into play.
