Minute distribution has been fine imo. they are clearly working on becoming less Lebron dependent, something that was a bit of problem last season. So far they've gone from a negative to huge positive whenever he's not on the floor.

Fun game, Wade was great but that pick n roll coverage by the Suns was god awful. On to the next one!

Looking at the boxscore, noticed Beas played more than Shard 23 mins to 8. :)

Did Spo do it by design and Beas is actually ahead of him in the rotation now or what is only a 1-game wonder?

I think it was prefect last season, where he played the hole first quarter. So the last few minutes of the first, he had the opportunity to play with the bench players and it worked pretty well. He could develop some more rhythm because he was the main/only playmaker on the floor.
This season, we already had games where none of James, Wade and Bosh played the last few minutes of the first.
At least one of the Big 3 should always be in the game imo...

I think of the NBA regular season as a training ground for new ideas. Like caliban said, we are trying to move away from a Lebron dominated approach. I think that's exactly what this team needs. So playing him less minutes, taking the ball out of his hands, making other guys responsible, etc., makes this team much more versatile and more difficult to game plan against.

Yeah, you can already see how much the rotation has evolved in the first 14 games, it will continue to do so as we figure out what works and what doesn't. And then we will be adding Oden in as well and that will change things too. That's why I don't get too concerned about rotations this early in the season unless a guy is already playing a lot of minutes.

And as far as minutes go, Lebron is playing 35 a game, roughly 3 minutes less a game than his career low. I like that number and wouldn't mind if it hovered there or a little less. We have a lot of talent on this team who can ease the burden. That's where Beasley really helps. Having a guy who can lead the offense from a scoring standpoint is key. If he is groomed into this role, then we don't have those crazy offensive letdowns and stagnations when James isn't in.

61/49/80. 70% TS. 1.69 points per shot. Is this real life?

Takeways from last night and this 7 game stretch in general.

Whatever we are doing with Wade in terms of managing his games played/minutes/health...KEEP IT UP. This Wade we are watching right now (the same Wade we saw during the big streak last year) is the key to the 3peat in my opinion. If we get THIS Wade come playoff time... I truly believe we will get it done.

Lebron is rounding into all world form. The guy is the most efficient superstar I can remember...

Beasley, Shard, Cole, Bird and Ray Ray make for our deepest team maybe in team history.

I know Ray Allen hates sitting games but I just hope he isn't opposed to a maintenance program of sorts also. He did not play well vs Indy last year overall and that has to change also for us this year.

All in all...everything is good. Next game circled on that schedule is AT Indy on Dec10.

Decent win, had some bad stretches of defense where the Suns exposed us but overall did our job. It's a shame a guy like Dragic is stuck on that team.

The biggest rotation adjustment Spo has made over the course of time is always making sure one of Wade or James is on the court while limiting their minutes, hence basically giving both their free space to establish a rhythm while also ensuring that one of our catalysts is always out there. It's essential to our offense that we have one of them in there to sort of pull a trigger and initiate something or simply draw enough attention for the rest of the team to have space. That's why having Wade healthy is so key to us. With him in good condition, we can keep constant pressure on the defense. You can always tinker with the lineups around of them, but once Wade isn't his aggressive self, you can always see the lack of scoring output when LeBron isn't out there.
On top of that, I think our signings now really show their worth. We have a certain structure, a certain offensive scheme and have signed well to fit both our offensive and defensive philosophies.
