It's partly the bulls eye thing but it's also happening because we don't play hard on defense to start games. You give NBA players confidence and let them get into a good rhythm, they will punish you later on even when you're starting to try to play harder. Almost all NBA players have talent, you can't disrespect them and expect to make a late comeback every time. It would work sometimes, but a lot of times it won't. Like yesterday.
Well, I think there's a chicken-and-the-egg thing here, because teams are only able to jump on us in part because they come out fired up every night. Most basketball games, you don't see teams going 100mph from the opening tip. Regardless, it's definitely true that we have an energy problem in general and a teams-are-gunning-for-us problem, and both of those feed into one another.
edit: we also need to keep some perspective here when talking about Miami's "problems." We are on a 64-win pace right now. That might be a little inflated by soft, home-heavy schedule, but it's also somewhat deflated by guys in and out of the lineup, integrating a major new piece (Beas), figuring out rotations, Lebron's back problems, and the fact that it's still basically extended training camp for Miami. We have 4 losses, and 2 of them came without Wade, and 1 of the two with Wade, we had a lead with less than 2 seconds remaining. We're doing alright.
