I have to include and what people do not see or understand. To add to what many of you mention about Bosh, one of the biggest impacts that he brings is the threat that he presents to opposing defenses to score big time if not scheme for.

So LeBron to Cleveland, Bosh to Dallas and we are back where we started with Wade and Beasley. This Pat Riley guy knows nothing about building a championship team. Thanks for your reporting Windhorst.

I agree as I don't want to destroy the chemistry we've built in these 4 seasons.

However, he played like complete **** in the playoffs last year and the start of this season hasn't been great either. Either he takes a big pay cut or I think we can let him walk. There's other free agents to be had as well.

Yes, we will keep Bosh so we don´t destroy the chemistry. We will also keep Lebron because he is a strong presence in the locker room.

Also, because he can play like this - http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2013/06/1 ... of-game-6/

He's not gonna play till after his mid-thirties and not going to run around for cash anymore. He likes it here in Miami and wants stability and all that. He's said all this a couple of times. Can't be bothered to find the quotes now... but yeah.. non-issue..

Agree. And I know for a fact he doesn't want to leave Miami and either does his wife. Only way he opts out, is if he gets a longer deal to stay in Miami.

Bosh is not worth a max. I'll take him for a pay cut though. With the 20 mil we pay Bosh we could get a decent stretch PF AND a decent center, which would make us a much better team. We would be a far superior rebounding team and a much better post defensive team against true centers like Hibbert. We can finally fill the hole at center. Center is by far the most important position. No more Duncan and Hibbert raping us all series long pushing us to the brink of defeat.

I'd like Bosh to take a discount like everyone should and I think that he will, but roster building doesn't work in a vacuum. Where exactly are those Decent stretch PF and beast defending Center? just because you free up some money doesn't mean those players are just going to appear out of thin air and be ready to sign with us. Guys like Ryan Anderson are very rare, and he's under contract. Millsap is under contract. Love is under contract. Dirk too. The only decent defensive Center that can be had is Asik, and he's not worth losing Bosh.

We should keep Bosh, the real challenge is to find a way to get decent Center on a smallish contract. That's what Birdman is, That's what we're trying to do with Oden, That's why we're developing Hamilton in our Dleague team, and that's why we'll probably draft a Center again this year.

Bosh is the guy who doesn't have the ball in his hands from a ball handling perspective so teams don't prepare as much as they should for him. Their focus defensively is on the guys initiating the offense not the ones scoring off it.

Yeah we need a center badly. It's by far the most important position and we are lacking in it. This team would be unstoppable with a good center. This is the only weak spot.

Even if we can't find another stretch PF to replace Bosh I'd rather get a good center and spend the extra money else where. Center is extremely important. We have poor rebounding against everyone and poor defense against centers.

Ultimately Bosh's role with us is to stretch the floor and play team D. He doesn't rebound well and his defense against the real centers we encounter deep in the playoffs is useless...and it's not like he is Karl Malone on the scoring end. 20 million is drastically overpaying him. If we got a center our D would be 1000 times better and so would our rebounding.

No PF replacement? No problem. We can just stick Lebron at PF and have him play point PF. Lebron is a better shooter than most PFs in the league anyways.

I'd run with a lineup of this:
C- good center
PF- Lebron
SF- Beasely
SG- Wade
PG- Chalmers/Cole

Well seeing Bosh lately..one can understand why you feel that way.

Im starting to think that the gap between Bosh and Beasley isn't that big in our system (If we can keep Beas on track and improving). Both aren't big enough to encore the defense, both can shoot, spread the floor. Beas might actually be a better rebounder. Bosh is a better shot blocker. Yea Bosh is still better, but not by a huge margin.
If that's the case, replacing Bosh with a good Center might could have the logical move. Problem is, the only option I see out there is Asik. Asik is a very good defender and rebounder, but he's really really limited offensively. Really. Can hardly hit free throws. not a great finisher at the rim. Can't hit jumpers obviously.
So Bosh for Asik alone isn't a good deal for us. Rockets might offer to add another player or 2, but it's usually not good to trade quality for quantity.

They have some interesting pieces they'll probably offer like Terrence Jones or Chandler Parsons but considering everything this Heat team went through together, the championships, Bosh being a good guy and teammate, it's probably best to just hope he doesn't demand the full Max and we keep him long term on a friendly contract while we keep searching for bigs that fit next to him, be it Oden/Okafor/Draft guy/whoever.

If we could have Traded Bosh for a real 2 way stud Center, I believe Pat would be very tempted after seeing our screaming weaknesses. But Asik isn't really that, and there's no other options out there.
