...This is the team that took the Heat to 6 games in 2012, 7 in 2013, and have now only gotten better.

How can you not see them as a threat?

of course they are threat, but i can't find one logical person that would pick them to beat miami in a 7 game series home court or not.

Considering this is the most dangerous EC opponent this Heat team has seen since the formation of the Big 3 and have already proven themselves to be a tough out for the Heat in the playoffs I really don't see why picking the Pacers would be seen as "illogical" but meh opinions are opinions.

Gun to my head I bet on the Heat to beat the Pacers in a 7 game series but I'm not unrealistic enough to realize that there is still a good chance for the Pacers to out us this year.

I think he assumes this team has another gear to go to for playoffs, while Pacers are going all out. But with a gimpy Wade, it's going to be a competitive series no matter what IMO.

off topic, why is this thread so long?? good lord.

Took them to six in 2012 without Bosh and to seven with a pretty much non-existent Wade in 2013, those results don't reflect the true difference in strength between both teams. Besides, I'd rather judge the situation based on what I've seen so far this season and last night's game doesn't give me any reason for concern.

Because it was a championship game with great consequence and we lost. Congrats to Lance Stephenson on his first ring. Hopefully we can deny him the 2peat next week.

then the series is going to be extremely long and painful to watch. I remember when I saw that live and just shook my head. I don't know how someone constantly gets away with jumping into defenders.
LBJ should have dumped it to Birdman the moment he had Hibbert over-committed. He had George sealed to his left and Hibbert in the air. Wide open Birdman to his right. I saw this on more than one occasion. I guess I'm used to Wade doing this in the past. Whoever Hibbert is guarding should be floating in a passing lane opposite of the driver. Pacers D is excellent but they're awful at helping the helper. I mean if it were me, and I know Hibbert ALWAYS flops back to sell the no-call, I'm bullrushing him, meeting him at the summit, knocking him back and dumping the pass to someone slashing inside while making sure my man is somewhat sealed off by my so he can't provide reasonable help without fouling. In this case, Birdman. How hard could it fkn be if I know I'm not going to be called for an offensive foul? These guys make **** hard for no reason. If I know...I mean I KNOW Hibbert is not going to get foul calls, why not think outside of the box and work a way around it?

Monday morning QB as hell, yes. But this and floaters are something that should be practiced.

Speaking of unfair calls, Norris Cole kicked the **** out of Hibbert earlier in the game and got away with it. Hibbert gets away with stuff, more than other centers actually, but so do we. Can't let a missed call be the deciding factor when we played like absolute trash after the first quarter. Putting Battier on Hibbert? Sit Battier, start Haslem with Bosh, bring in Battier to guard the bench so he's not getting slammed by Hibbert and West lols. Oh well.

Where would Beasley fit in all of this?

?
Wade
James
Beasley
Bosh

Seems a bit small against
PG
West
Hibbert

Don't know if I like Beasley matched up on West...Or Beasley matched up on PG. Hm...

Bah... no game til Saturday so this is still going.

Ray needs to stop sucking against the Pacers, we need him. He better fix this come playoff time. He has 3 more chances to show he is an actual threat. So far he has been a liability against this team. It broke open when he was on PG, which was the stupid. I'm guessing Beasley would have been on PG if Beas was playing. But now Spo knows not to put a 38 year old (I don't care how fit he is) on the third most dangerous player on the opposing team.

I'm not ready to say we need Beasley and/or Oden to beat them but they would definitely make it easier.

I can understand Battier shooting bad when he gets handled by West all game but Ray Allen? He is shooting below really bad against the Pacers.

I know David West beats up on him, but that's no excuse for attempted murder on the back board.

Give Indy some credit too, they defend the 3P well. But yeah, Battier just isn't a winning matchup for us against Indy.

Battier sucking against Indy is nothing new. That's why Beasley and Oden are especially important for us against them. This all season is setting up to be a long training camp before the playoffs, That's when we'll really go all out and I believe we'll see a much different lineups and rotations out there.
